I really used to hate Draymond, but the older I get the more I really truly appreciate what he did as a glue-guy & leader on that Warriors team. Being the guy in the locker room holding the egos in check, being a teacher, a mediator, taking a smaller contract, locking in an extension etc. It's mad what goes on behind the scenes but I would say he is one of the main reasons the GSW did so well for that period of time and how they're able to rebuild now without KD.
Im so tired of gm’s making teams like it’s 2k. Stars have teams where systems are built around them speciafically. What do you think is gonna happen when they all play at the same time? Lakers sign like 5 guys that need the ball on their hands to be effective, but they ask these guys to still play their game but without considering the whole team, just mindless.
Draymond rightfully said on Redick's podcast that this team (2016-17 warriors) was an anomaly, because Steph signed a lower contract after his many injuries on his ankle, Dray himself signed low because of his role and so did Klay, but also because they knew they could have a real god shot the next summer in signing KD by lowering their contracts.
Definitely a LOT of perfect storms and perfect timing during their run. Not to mention Harrison Barnes contract ending at RFA at the same time Durant was a free agent.
I'm still stunned that the Nets were willing to take Ben Simmons into their team. Imagine paying around 40 million dollars per year to a guy who literally can't make a jumpshot even if his life depended on it. If I was an owner of a NBA franchise, or responsible of building a roster for a NBA franchise, Ben Simmons would literally be the last expensive player I would consider taking into my team.
Tell that to non shooting bigs like shaq, been literally does everything good except shooting, basically a 6’10” rondo that’s also really quick and coordinated for how tall he is
@Andrew Easley he was an MVP caliber player who went to a 73-9 team unless he wins without the warriors he will never truly earn the fans’ respect and that’s not me hating it’s just the circumstance he put himself in
I much prefer when teams kinda build their own "big 3" or whatever by drafting and developing their own players, like Spurs with Duncan, Parker and Ginóbili or GSW with Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
Jxmy, Love ALL your content and research man. Question, is there a correlation with today's "Game speed" with more points and NBA All Stars injuries? Seems like way more injuries today vs 2000s just a fan question. Keep killin it bro!
except he spent the entire video not saying the reason harden got traded was because some of the nets wouldn't get vaccinated. had nothing to do with injuries. jimmy's fuckin up if he didnt even mention the reason why he got traded.
I’m actually really happy for both teams. I think every nba fan got something to look forward to Btw I don’t think Ben will return this year, still good for the Nets tho cause of Seth Curry and all the picks
@chuckdeuces911 if it was his job he’d have been playing with the sixers, It’s amazing people defend him for sitting out because he was butthurt, I’m a huge hockey fan so the flyers are my team and I literally couldn’t imagine a player sitting out for being called out for his play in the playoffs. That’s crybaby shit, if he didn’t want the criticism then come back and prove them wrong, that’s what a real winners does. Ben is not one
Ben will play this year, he's ready believe that...that's his job and they can win 20 straight with him and KD out there with Kyrie. It's a perfect setup with Curry too and Drummond.. this was the best trade I've seen in years.
I never understood why they got rid of Allen, they lacked a big all season. He was a bright upcoming talent, one of the best shot blockers in the league. Made no sense to me.
@Nostalgia Reaper u never had a future with kyrie in the first place. and you'd realise this only when he wants out and the team starts rebuilding again.
If Levert didn't get traded to the Pacers, He wouldn't find out about his kidney and had to go surgery. He thanked the Trade for saving his life so yeah.
Given the trades that were being thrown around in the past for Ben, getting harden is the best case scenario for sixers fans. At this point I thought they would get very little for him. Very fortunate.
Well I mean you got KD, the Warriors are contending now after he left. You have Kyrie, Boston is clearly contending without him, so I mean the impact both of these players have on a winning team hasn't come into question when it should have.
idk man i was pretty skeptical of the nets big 3 from the jump. Putting together 3 of the biggest divas in the league was always gonna be a crash and burn scenario, im actually suprised the nets managed to get out this will and not have it end up like the pierce and kevin garnett situation all over again
I really hope the sixers let Embiid go somewhere else, either by choice or by accident. That management failed him so hard, it's outrageous. The dude deserves so much better.
I don't know if they will ever reach their peak again, both Harden and Simmons, I don't think Harden will ever be as good as in Houston and Simmons just doesn't seem to have the work ethic to work on his game and develop...
Great video Jimmy wow you really like the best at this type of content and explaining it so anyone could understand the entirety of these things that happen in the nba.
I jumped on the 2016 Warriors bandwagon and loved every second of their battles with OKC and Cleveland. None of those were superteams. Then KD went to GS. The NBA got a lot less interesting for a while, pretty much until last year, with 2021-2022 being the most interesting since 2016. Hopefully, we get back to the era of team loyalty and quit the “ring chasing” era once and for all.
when the trade happened, for the first time in a decade, i was actually intensely excited to see 2 teams have a playoff series BEFORE the finals (nets vs 76ers) itss true that the product of the nba gets better without superteams. to say it another way, it is better when teams are all around the same level, then it comes down to intangibles, like hunger, leadership, clutch factor and mental toughness. These are the people we literally love seeing succeed. anything else is a waste of time its true most of us dont watch the nba, except for the deep playoffs and finals, where the matchups have almost always been decided before the playoffs even begin. its ok to have a superteam, as long as there are 10 or so superteams, and by the looks of the growing amount of talented players in the league, this might be where we are headed, slowly. injuries are a major factor. its specifically how the raptors beat golden state in those finals. if you have a big 3, meaning ur topheavy, and they get hurt, which is likely cuz they are playing the most, then your team as a whole is not built to withstand that loss.
Harden will never win with his style of play, especially alongside Embiid. He’s doesn’t deserve to win either with all the problems he’s generated over the years. As much as I dislike Brooklyn they just got a lot better. Those picks are huge alongside Seth & Drummond
@Albert Ross No Hall of Fame since 2k15. Depends on the build. Some builds make you unstoppable, you also get used to the game so you know what works and what doesn't
i think the reason the GSWs are an anomaly of a super team is because they actually took the time to develop their young talent into superstars as opposed to trading future assets for superstars. klay curry and draymond were all drafted by GSW, and it wasnt until they found success that they were able to jump the gun on durant. honestly the most deserving dynasty of all time out of the super teams talked about in this video.
Jimmy is quite the philosophical guy, I’m noticing that this “butterfly effect” / “what if” concept is a central theme in many of his videos. Very nice my friend
@Will Yup. Look at him now. And you can talk about potential all you want, but it's still up to Ben Simmons to put in the work and have the right mindset to reach or even exceed his potential. But with what I've seen from him, he seems content on not improving
I really hope superteams are done for. These last few playoffs have been super competitive and fun to watch, since I don’t have to expect the Warriors or Heat or Cavs to get a guaranteed spot in the playoffs
@JB915 I agree with you 100%, superteams have always been here, Magic, Larry Bird, DrJ , MJ, Bill Russelll, and Kareem, all played on superteams at some point in their careers, that is why they have so many championships
@J Smith it doesn’t matter if Kyrie or Love played they still got there. It doesn’t matter who plays for the team as long as they get there. They’re considered a super team
As a Brooklyn fan still glad we made this trade even though a first exit, rather have a young potential Ben Simmons diva than a washed and old diva James Harden.
Jimmy is quite the philosophical guy, I’m noticing that this “butterfly effect” / “what if” concept is a central theme in many of his videos. Very nice my friend 👌👍

Assuming Harden won’t continue to be an impotent player, only then will I conclude that the 76ers got the better deal… but as it stands now the Nets do…
@Bbouy nowhere near an excuse bro, dude is supposedly one of the best offensive players In history playing very inconsistent and he had the nerve to pretend like he still wanted to play in bk
In a sense im proud of Joel Embiid. He is able to play on an MVP level with all the drama. I really hope in some point he must have a ring when its all over. Imo.
Harden has yet to recover from playing through that quad injury in the playoffs, which I think is kinda obvious to anyone who looks. He just isn't making step back dagger threes like he did before.
I started getting interested in NBA about 2 years ago, imagine my face when I thought I was about to see some monster lineup put together half a year after I start getting interested. Imagine my face when they never did anything 💀💀
Bro Your videos are always entertaining and It's never tiring to watch your previous videos and i like how much effort you put on every video just for us! Like you do some difficult math's I mean not all of us are not even that good at math It's just impressive how smart you are and I wish you the best of luck in life! You deserve what you deserve bro Much respect
What were Sixers supposed to do? Keep a player that won’t play for them? For it to be a forced trade basically it’s a good move. There isn’t really an ideal alternative
@SuperTDSmith problem with that is other free agents will look at that and not want to play for your organization..so he's right the sixers were kinda screwed
The first superteam was probably the 2004 Lakers. Shaq, Malone, Rick Fox, Kobe and Payton, with Horace Grant, Byron Russel and Derek Fisher on the bench. But with a poor Kobe performance in the finals it didn't quite work out.
I was out with an accident for 2 weeks when I heard Ben Simmons got traded and I was so shocked about it so that's why Kevin didn't pick him in the all star😅
I knew about this trade from the first second and that the nets traded Harden and that they lost in a way because they don’t have that trio anymore etc etc. but what you don’t understand is that the nets now have curry and Andre Drummond who are pretty good in their own position and Seth isn’t bad, and I feel like he can grow and make the team stronger than it is and if harden isn’t happy there he shouldn’t be there! P. S. I don’t know why your making this video if all you said that wasn’t known be4 is that harden, Irving and durant only played 16/126 like who cares they were a good trio but there’s a time to move on! The only reason Steph Curry was never traded from GS is because they didn’t want to trade him because he was happy in GS and every other team had a good PG that was good enough for the team but technically they would trade him. So if life is about change I don’t get why your puzzled by why the nets traded harden, I mean HE WANTED TO LEAVE! So let him leave why not? It’s like LeBron I feel now doesn’t care about scoring so much he only does it bec he’s been doing it for years and knows he can average 30+ pts a game but he’s not as excited to score or dunk as he was years back. And he’s only waiting for his son to come into the league. But he would leave the lakers if he could! plclip.com/video/zuJigDr7boM/wideo.html
I love that super teams don't work all that often. I think it's so much more boring to watch than when special talent is spread out throughout the league.
Something tells me this trade could have happened sooner, the 76ers waited until the absolute last minute so they could fine Simmons the max amount for choosing not to play. I still think the Nets got the better deal, but time will tell.
@Bernardo Hill Reed sounds like you support people who agree mentally weak. How about he works on his free throw instead of his 3. Or pretends he deserves to be on the floor and dunk or take an easy shot within two feet. He is an offensive liability and a liability to his team. It's basketball make plays, not excuses. He plays a sport where is gonna have expectations from his teammates, coaches and fans. He gets over compensated for that stress. Fact is he is lazy and pathetic mentally. Team isn't in his vocabulary. Just like Kylie.
You said it. his passing, defense. And he scores. that’s basketball. Basketball is not shooting 3 only. Yes is good to have a three point shoot nothing wrong with that. But u all make it seems if u don’t have it ur not a good BBall player. So let me ask this question why Ben never develop a 3. The answer is not because he can’t he don’t want too. And who fault is that. .. the 76ers, The 76ers fans. And the Media. From a long time they’ve been bombarding Ben with this if u don’t have a 3 u no good. Ben just got tired Mentally. Emotionally. And just decided to rebel. I would too
@Jamie kimble nope but his actions are pretty well documented in social media and news coverage. He pretty much personifies everything wrong with my generation. Lazy, hypersensitive, entitled. Without spending extensive hours with anyone you don't really know them. However we are people. Judgement is a survival tool that every one of us uses. I'd wager you make Judgement on people you don't know to. Whether it's presidents, Co workers whomever. So slowly dismount your high horse
Don't be surprised if Ice Trae's laughing out of his mind when he witnessed the greatest missed layup of all time, during a critical game 7, 2 seasons ago 🤣😂
Kyrie has proven himself to be a drama queen, so the "what if Kyrie would have got vaccinated" never was going to happen. He won his ring in Cleveland and wanted out almost immediately. He got his out in Boston, got injured and Boston played better without him. He promised to stay in Boston but then left for Brooklyn and now refuses to get vaccinated to help Brooklyn win.
Great thanks to Raptors and Bucks to prove that as long as an organization in a relatively small market builds a solid squad, ONLY ONE Super Star is good enough to bring it home.
As a fan of the 76ers I am simultaneously very happy and very bummed out by this trade. the TLDR version is that Seth Curry was too good of a piece to lose in this deal, but was the only option for salary cap unless we could've somehow given danny green. All in all, I think this was a good option but ONLY if Embiid does not have to decrease his production and if James Harden comes ALL IN
@Jo W I wasn't talking about the Nets. Seth will be great for the Nets I think both teams won the trade. I was just talking about how a lot of Philly fans wanted to keep Seth over Maxey. You're right though Seth is going to ball out in Brooklyn.
@Jo W he already signed a 47mil extension for next season. After that he's eligible for a 5 years 270mil supermax extension, which we can chose to give him after the 2023 season. Because of bird rights or something he cant get the supermax as a FA, so if Philly does want to keep him theyll have a massive advantage.
James Harden, a guy that shoots 41% from the field on almost 20 FG attempts per game, shoots 33% from the 3 point line and turns it over 5 times per game, is somehow considered a "star"
hahaha I love watching superteams fall on their face, NBA math doesn't always add up and you can't trust egos to stay in check. Coulda, woulda, shoulda 🤣
@bryan yau Simmons is a loser who can’t shoot, and was never going to play for us again. Drummond who is a great backup center and rebounder, was going to walk this off-season for more money and a starting role on another team. Curry who is a great shooter, was replaced by a HOFer, and still a top 10 player currently…James Harden. Who makes us contenders right now. The first round picks don’t mean anything. One of them is in 2027, and both would be late mid 20 picks anyway. That 2027 prospect rigth now is in middle school lol. I could care less about 2 first round picks when we are trying to win now. Sixers get better while the Nets are on a 11 game losing streak, get Bum Simmons, and still won’t have Kyrie for home games.
@bryan yau How did Philly lose depth, they traded 2 playerrs for 2 players? Make 0 sense. How is being inconsistent in the playoffs make us "weaker" when Simmons also was inconsistent in the playoffs, if u can't argue we are better, then by your logic we are the same.
@Sushi Losing Seth is not bad, most sixers fan don't mind, he doesn't shoot contested 3's, passes up heaps of shots, can't defend at all, almost unplayable
@bryan yau What depth is phily losing? It's literally Harden and milsap for Seth and Drummond. 1 superstar and a role player for a good player and a better role one. They had nothing to lose. And as for draft picks they are probably trying to win this year or the next one and I don't think that a draft pick in the 20s would make an instant impact
@bryan yau Agreed. Sixers have more win-now potential, but a group of players that regularly succumb to playoff losses. They also have limited trade pieces to improve if things go pear shaped. Brooklyn on the other hand have a locker room and personnel issue. Curry and Mills are great shooters, but turnstiles on defence. Drummond hasn’t showed he can contribute to winning basketball, Ben can’t shoot and Kyrie won’t play. Steve Nash insists on playing KD 35+ minutes post-Achilles injury and hasn’t shown he can build a functional offence outside the big 3. Both teams are in a situation right now, and if management and coaching can’t work something out Embiid and KD will walk.
Thanks for the nod to the Raptors to meet the end of the modern Supertramp era, as it shows the breadth of the whole team can take down trios when it counts, towards a championship win.
Closest thing we got to warriors 6 years ago was the spurs. All stars.. a whole team of guys willing to be selfless and make Pop's plays. Would argue it was even more impressive.
Golden State went 73-9, best record ever in the NBA, and then they signed Kevin Durant. Who was a top 5 player in the league. The commissioner should not have allowed this to happen.
Were the Warriors really a superteam? I mean for me the definition of a superteam is assembeling superstars from multiple teams to come to your team. And the Warriors beside KD were built from inside such as for example the FC Barcelona Tiki Taka Team from 2009-2012
Naw the nets still got a super team! Ben is a all time 7 foot defensive pg and they added a top 10 shooter in the league! They got way better.. I hate to say it
@aswcu so basically if you really play basketball youll know nets didnt really lose anything in the trade. .but gained seth and drummond in the process. .which will fill now the holes they have with their injured players. .😃 All of your reactions is beacuse you think and expect simmons will not play. .lol. .what you need to think now is how harden will play and how will it affect phillys rotation and ball distribution. .😂😂😂
@aswcu logically speaking if you play ball youll know simmons dont literally have to score anymore with nets. .unlike in philly. .he can play now his game in nets. .again unlike in philly. .😝😝😝
ben is a 6' 10 dude who cant defend centers. of course he has some serious upside in brooklyn but if they put him at the 5 they are in trouble. plus he still wont shoot 3s or even deep 2s
It feels like when these super teams get together they just let it all slip away. I liked watching the heat play with their big 3 cause it felt like they wanted that shit. Now days it feels like they just think it's their time.
@Jack Swift you aren't wrong about dirk but the 2003 finals was one of the biggest carry jobs the nba has ever seen. Timmy single handedly won won it for them and their second best player was tony parker who shot 14 ppg on 38%

@TheDarkbluerock Mavs won that chip because of Jason Kidd and Dirk. Steve Nash would not have helped Dirk get a ring. Admit it, jkidd is the better point guard. Nash's pick and roll style would not work with dirk since dirk plays a lot in the post and off the bounce.
what he was thinking about was things to say to not mention the political side of it. harden got traded cuz he refused to play because some of the nets wouldn't get vaccinated. he didn't even mention it.
I think it’s disingenuous to judge players that play their full contract and sign in a super team vs players that force their way out of their contractual teams (ex.: James Harden twice). Lebron and KD were never at fault like that.
@aprophethere And when a player has bad options at his current franchise we should expect them to go on strike until they're traded? It's a testament to how weak-minded James Harden is. If he doesn't have an idealistic scenario, he doesn't want to play. The right way would've been for him to declare his intention to be traded, show up to training, train, show up to game night, play and await for offers to come in. He can say whatever he wants about the Rockets during that time. But him showing up and performing the duties for which he's paid a lucrative sum of money, is the right way. Just like teams shouldn't be trading players without notifying them of their plans to do so, it's a matter of morality and respect. Of which very little is shown by either side in the NBA, player or club. So yeah, I disagree with a lot of your point about "management being unwilling to accept it" and "wasting 3 years on a rebuild". None of that factors in to a grown man conducting himself like a spoiled teenager who wants a PS5 because his PS4 which served him greatly, is busted because of the way he played with it and needs some investment into fixing it. He's totally entitled to want to leave a club for whatever reason, but if a player is a dick in how they go about it, then my respect for the individual wavers.
@Luc deman Mukenge it is same logic with usa states as with countries in the world. Everybody has somewhat different rules and practices. It is not ideal world and it will never be. Did someone forced him to do anything? All people said and all I would have said, that you should be vaccinated to keep yourself save and others. If he does not want it is his choice. He is losing money though, but that is because of contract. It is controversial, i know. Because state demands to be vaccinated if you want to do certain things publicly. But some rules go above others when it is serious matter, like health and safety of yourself and others... Things like these are all over world now in different industries. If it is considered a force, then I guess it is true. But again, 2 years we are living in different world. Adapt and survive i guess.
@Darius it doesn't seem so logical if you ask me l mean he is allowed to play in other states but not New York. Also forcing people isn't the same as giving them a choice.
Yu cant label the Warriors as the anomaly when the guys they have they drafted and Wiggins was considered a bust. Apart from the KD years, they made stars from the draft.
The Warriors won the chip. Though they are definitely not a super team. They are homegrown drafted players who were all willing to play a role in order to win
Its crazy how Harden his entire career has been an ironman and when he got traded to the Nets, he started to get injuries. Just with KD and Harden this team would have done it.
@Lorenzo Salud wtf r u saying? he literally refused to play with them because they wouldn't get vaccinated. the OWNERS traded him, he didn't trade himself. if he likes the sixers, they did him a favor, but he didn't CHOSE to leave. wtf dude?
@marcus Harden ain't scared of unvaxxed kyrie, he's just tired of it. dude came in expecting to win with 2 stars with him only to get 1 part time and 1 injured.
Ben is going to go to the playoffs with so much energy while every other player will be hurt or tired. Kind of remind me of Jordan vs the Celtics. And no I’m not saying he will score like him but in the last dance Jordan stated he used his energy and youth to go so hard that playoff series. I like this trade for the nets.
Harden left too early for me but I understand where he’s coming from. He doesn’t have a championship unlike KD and Kyrie. He wants a championship and as of right now it doesn’t look like a finals run this year. But the 76ers is are always a series or two away from the finals. We’ll see if this was a good decision for him.
Well the sixers are just weak and I’m not basing it off this season only, like they went out against Hawks last year when they had the easiest path to at least the conference finals.
Superteams were around throughout a lot of NBA history. Celtics in the 1960s, Celtics an Lakers in 1980s, and so many others. There were periods without super teams too. I don't see at all why this current situation is stable and nothing seems to be new. I'd bet that there will be more superteams in the future.
I stopped watching basketball after Kobes last game. I can honestly say that this channel has single handedly kept me connected to the sport..... If I ever start watching again, it will be because of Jimmy.
@Edwin Karani Good for you. I was a fan of early 2000s NBA basketball. As time moved forward the style of play changed as did the players I grew up watching and I lost interest with the retirement of Kobe. I love basketball, but that doesn't mean I have to watch it. I love Red Lobster but it's been years since I've been there. Maybe I will again, maybe I'll watch the NBA again, the new style of play is starting to grow on me and story tellers like Jimmy make it seem even more interesting.
Crazy how we went from “nothing can stop the nets, it’s inevitable” to “everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong”
nets got trash.....
lol
Murphy's law
People who said nothing could stop nets forgot that nets themselves couldn't stop anything
Who's we lol. As a Nets fan lol, I never felt from jump, Kyrie, Harden and KD would work out.
@meow! casual
All black too
this didnt age well
bruh draymond is shit lmao. and he gets salty and does nothing in clutch time. warriors will be lucky to win again this decade. lmao
How about now? 😂🤡
@diego chavez no. Lebron wanted him gone for more cap space to sign some big name superstar, and don’t you dare say ingram is a big name superstar.
That's why lbj tried so hard to get rid of Ingram because he's that dude and can cook lbj .
exactly bro, finally someone said it
Draymond rightfully said on Redick's podcast that this team (2016-17 warriors) was an anomaly, because Steph signed a lower contract after his many injuries on his ankle, Dray himself signed low because of his role and so did Klay, but also because they knew they could have a real god shot the next summer in signing KD by lowering their contracts.
@Matt Birnholtz
K
The salary cap situation also changed that year I b elieve, which meant every team had a huge opening in that one year jump

Ben Simmons WOATed
For real I still remember when people said I was crazy because I was saying Ingram better than Simmons 😂😂
They got kyrie and kd and Ben Simmons is a good playmaker and defender. I guess they’re not gonna rely on Simmons to shoot
Same. Especially in today's NBA. It's crazy. No shot. complete diva. spotty motivation. not worth it.
Kinda crazy we’ve had every combination of Westbrook-Durant-Harden and not ONE of those teams won a championship
@Andrew Easley he was an MVP caliber player who went to a 73-9 team unless he wins without the warriors he will never truly earn the fans’ respect and that’s not me hating it’s just the circumstance he put himself in
@Ludo Gibson it’s really not tho considering those are 3 of the most selfish players we’ve ever seen play
@Martin Quesada 3 MVPs in their primes playing in every possible combination with each other couldn’t win a championship? Yeah actually that is crazy
@ICEcold Jacob Tiller nah they all need ball to play good
@ICEcold Jacob Tiller You are assuming they beat the Spurs
I KNOW you did not just choose Fred vanvleet to be the superstar for the raptors
I much prefer when teams kinda build their own "big 3" or whatever by drafting and developing their own players, like Spurs with Duncan, Parker and Ginóbili or GSW with Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green.
DLo, PG and Dinwiddie is still more formidable in the hindsight than KD, Harden and Kyrie. I used to dream of PG playing for GSW or Brooklyn.
Thank you Jimmy for highlighting Joel I feel like people don’t realize how he’s been the real one leading that team
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 still cant get enough with his defense on kawhi bro literally switched his fast, good defender teammate.
Jxmy, Love ALL your content and research man. Question, is there a correlation with today's "Game speed" with more points and NBA All Stars injuries?
Seems like way more injuries today vs 2000s just a fan question. Keep killin it bro!
@The Illuzionist right but a faster pace means more running up and down the court as well as more contact plays where players can get injured
teams today take an average of 10 more shots per game than the early-mid 2000s, thats why everyone scores more today
Players starting younger and grinding younger and the general grind culture for top players especially. Their bodies don’t get enough rest.
except he spent the entire video not saying the reason harden got traded was because some of the nets wouldn't get vaccinated. had nothing to do with injuries. jimmy's fuckin up if he didnt even mention the reason why he got traded.
Your point is interesting I also would argue that players start younger and have more time playing than before at an elite level.
I’m actually really happy for both teams. I think every nba fan got something to look forward to
Btw I don’t think Ben will return this year, still good for the Nets tho cause of Seth Curry and all the picks
@Nolimit taking 16 to make 5is stupid . Anything below 33% made is ineffectual and just 50% from the inside is better
@AHappyGuy pretty sure he was taking about Seth curry
Drummond is a rebounding machine to gonna miss him
I feel like if they never got Harden & kept Levert & Allen they would have been a force. That Nets team overachieved before KD & Kyrie
@PrimePlayzGames yeah 😅
Funny cause Levert and Allen are both on the Cavs lol
Always a good day when jxmy uploads

I really hope the sixers let Embiid go somewhere else, either by choice or by accident. That management failed him so hard, it's outrageous. The dude deserves so much better.
Embiid is one of the most loyal players man, i feel bad wasting him in that sixers team
I don't know if they will ever reach their peak again, both Harden and Simmons, I don't think Harden will ever be as good as in Houston and Simmons just doesn't seem to have the work ethic to work on his game and develop...
@Darth Raider nah look at cp3 and the rejuvenation he's had. there's absolutely no reason harden cant be that and more
Philly got fleeced
Great video Jimmy wow you really like the best at this type of content and explaining it so anyone could understand the entirety of these things that happen in the nba.
When you think about how this project ended, simmons sitting out etc. It really shows how big of a joke this league has become
These are the people we literally love seeing succeed. anything else is a waste of time
its true most of us dont watch the nba, except for the deep playoffs and finals, where the matchups have almost always been decided before the playoffs even begin.
its ok to have a superteam, as long as there are 10 or so superteams, and by the looks of the growing amount of talented players in the league, this might be where we are headed, slowly.
injuries are a major factor. its specifically how the raptors beat golden state in those finals. if you have a big 3, meaning ur topheavy, and they get hurt, which is likely cuz they are playing the most, then your team as a whole is not built to withstand that loss.
Battle of LA between 4 stars would've been epic
The dream is having multiple superteams and some roughriders biting their achelis heel giving epic battles
Harden will never win with his style of play, especially alongside Embiid. He’s doesn’t deserve to win either with all the problems he’s generated over the years. As much as I dislike Brooklyn they just got a lot better. Those picks are huge alongside Seth & Drummond
1000%
Jxmy has never missed with a video. What a legend , just amazing videos
Let’s not forget the fact that all of our 2K my players got traded for sandwiches
@Learning Doing Repeat PC, Steam specifically
@Iasonas Xold you play on PC or Playstation?
@Albert Ross No Hall of Fame since 2k15. Depends on the build. Some builds make you unstoppable, you also get used to the game so you know what works and what doesn't
@Learning Doing Repeat Recently i uninstalled the game but I didn't like 2k21 so I was playing 20 with no problems
@Learning Doing Repeat get over it and upgrade.
i think the reason the GSWs are an anomaly of a super team is because they actually took the time to develop their young talent into superstars as opposed to trading future assets for superstars. klay curry and draymond were all drafted by GSW, and it wasnt until they found success that they were able to jump the gun on durant. honestly the most deserving dynasty of all time out of the super teams talked about in this video.
Jimmy is quite the philosophical guy, I’m noticing that this “butterfly effect” / “what if” concept is a central theme in many of his videos. Very nice my friend
Harden was my favourite player on the nets but I’m very excited to see him with the sixers
Ben Simmons still has amazing potential. As a basketball fan I hope he realizes that and really starts to grind. It’d be awesome to see
@Roy_calcifer Santos "Molesting Smaller guard's" 🤨
@rafael lariosa yes.. that’s why it’s called potential lmao. He could potentially be great. But it’s pretty obvious he has a piss poor mindset
@Will Yup. Look at him now. And you can talk about potential all you want, but it's still up to Ben Simmons to put in the work and have the right mindset to reach or even exceed his potential. But with what I've seen from him, he seems content on not improving
@rafael lariosa an L take that he has potential? Okay bud
L take
I really hope superteams are done for. These last few playoffs have been super competitive and fun to watch, since I don’t have to expect the Warriors or Heat or Cavs to get a guaranteed spot in the playoffs
Let me tell you something bud. GSW always finds a way to win the finals.
@J Smith every game of 5 years you’re a joke dude, you’re not a real fan you’re a hater.
@J Smith you’re ignorant, I watched every game. I do know. You’re a joke🤣🤣
As a Brooklyn fan still glad we made this trade even though a first exit, rather have a young potential Ben Simmons diva than a washed and old diva James Harden.
“There wasn’t a single team that could compete with them”
Collin Sexton.
that game will live on in history, Sexton went nuclear 🙌
This is going to be interesting. The teams traded each other talented headcases. No idea who, if either, will come out the better.

@Harry Lamptey No they fucking don’t the only playmaker that comes close is Curry
@MajinNY he wasn't motivated to play anymore,
@Drascon Boy Bruh you obviously don't know Harden, he always averages 4+ turnovers. this isn't unusual
@Harry Lamptey he’s hella inconsistent dude dropped 4 pts against the kings😭
In a sense im proud of Joel Embiid. He is able to play on an MVP level with all the drama. I really hope in some point he must have a ring when its all over. Imo.
I literally love embiid I’m so glad harden is on the 76ers getting him help
Harden has yet to recover from playing through that quad injury in the playoffs, which I think is kinda obvious to anyone who looks. He just isn't making step back dagger threes like he did before.
It's crazy, now that Ben's on the nets he's about to show everyone why he's the ROTY this season.
Yea missing threes and giving up easy buckets will show us...
Dudes overated I thought he was in lsu and I stand by the statement now.

Too much of individuals for one team. On paper you have 85ppg, in reality you have too many different ideologies. Great video like always, Jimmy!

I started getting interested in NBA about 2 years ago, imagine my face when I thought I was about to see some monster lineup put together half a year after I start getting interested. Imagine my face when they never did anything 💀💀
Hard to believe how this happened like this. Nets blew the ultimate team

What were Sixers supposed to do? Keep a player that won’t play for them? For it to be a forced trade basically it’s a good move. There isn’t really an ideal alternative
@Michael Washington thats not a problem if nba makes pittsburgh team and all the good players go there
@SuperTDSmith problem with that is other free agents will look at that and not want to play for your organization..so he's right the sixers were kinda screwed
Yes keep him and make him go broke. If he does play then play him all 48 mins and have him take 60 shot per game.
God id love to see Draymond as the no 1 option on the Magic. What would his season stat line be? humour me, please
6:47 2moody players that plays half the time had me dying😂😂
Reminds me of what chuck said but now it's 2 half men, 2 half season.
The Nets experiment ended too soon. Though it puts in even greater context what the likes of Bron and GSW were able to achieve during their runs
Great thanks to Raptors and Bucks to prove that as long as an organization in a relatively small market builds a solid squad, ONLY ONE Super Star is good enough to bring it home.
In both cases injuries helped, but the same can be said about Golden States title in 2015.
The quality of your content is astounding. Literally every aspect is top tier.
As a fan of the 76ers I am simultaneously very happy and very bummed out by this trade. the TLDR version is that Seth Curry was too good of a piece to lose in this deal, but was the only option for salary cap unless we could've somehow given danny green. All in all, I think this was a good option but ONLY if Embiid does not have to decrease his production and if James Harden comes ALL IN
I’m not gonna lie I have zero faith in James Harden to let himself be a second option and adapt to a different system
Bro curry is 31 and almost same age as harden
Exactly right
@Jo W I wasn't talking about the Nets.
I just stumbled across your channel this morning and so far I’ve watched about a dozen of your videos. I really enjoy your content. Keep it up! 👍
Thank you for making it clear that the Celtics are responsible for the modern day super teams.
hahaha I love watching superteams fall on their face, NBA math doesn't always add up and you can't trust egos to stay in check. Coulda, woulda, shoulda 🤣
This trade is actually so perfect for both teams I’m actually surprised it happened
Thanks for the nod to the Raptors to meet the end of the modern Supertramp era, as it shows the breadth of the whole team can take down trios when it counts, towards a championship win.
weirdest? This is the first trade i've seen in the last decade that was actually a fair trade that works out for both teams
Thank you for saying the Celtics created the modern day super team. People some how blame LeBron.
And the Warriors beside KD were built from inside such as for example the FC Barcelona Tiki Taka Team from 2009-2012
“If they could put their egos aside…”
Funny he says that because the whole reason the three ended up in Nets is pure ego
As always, great content Jxmy!
Naw the nets still got a super team! Ben is a all time 7 foot defensive pg and they added a top 10 shooter in the league! They got way better.. I hate to say it
@aswcu so basically if you really play basketball youll know nets didnt really lose anything in the trade. .but gained seth and drummond in the process. .which will fill now the holes they have with their injured players. .😃
All of your reactions is beacuse you think and expect simmons will not play. .lol. .what you need to think now is how harden will play and how will it affect phillys rotation and ball distribution. .😂😂😂
@aswcu logically speaking if you play ball youll know simmons dont literally have to score anymore with nets. .unlike in philly. .he can play now his game in nets. .again unlike in philly. .😝😝😝
@aswcu and why would you put simmons in 5 position?good thing your not a coach. .😂😂😂. .i bet you even suck at playing ball. .hahahah
@John L. Seth is there too tho, Seth can fill up Kyrie's missed games, he's a very good player.
ben is a 6' 10 dude who cant defend centers. of course he has some serious upside in brooklyn but if they put him at the 5 they are in trouble. plus he still wont shoot 3s or even deep 2s
I agree with all of this except that Embid never turned in Ben cause after that loss to the hawks he shit on him
I don't think I've ever seen a trade where both teams somehow got the worse end of the deal before, yet...here we are.
Just imagine when the nets only had KD and Kyrie they also had Jarrett Allen Spencer Dinwiddie Caris LeVert that was enough to win a chip
It feels like when these super teams get together they just let it all slip away. I liked watching the heat play with their big 3 cause it felt like they wanted that shit. Now days it feels like they just think it's their time.
After watching this, i just realized how great Dirk is: He won without needing a superteam, no ego , no drama just pure professionalism
I mean, Dirk himself said that if he didn't get the ring in 2011 he woulda wanted out of the Mavs.

If only the Mavs didn't trade Nash back then, I think Dirk would have retired with 3 rings.
Can we review this real quick? Mainly Ben Simmons still refusing to play and Harden disappearing (as per usual) in the playoffs
Man I really wanted Harden, Durant, and Kyrie to work. I was so excited the day I found out it was an actual thing!
it’s insane how deep this man thinks. I would never have thought about this.
what he was thinking about was things to say to not mention the political side of it. harden got traded cuz he refused to play because some of the nets wouldn't get vaccinated. he didn't even mention it.
Natural in depth and precise breakdown as per usual!
Laugh 1: Drama Queen
Laugh 2: 10.5 shoe size 🤣
I think it’s disingenuous to judge players that play their full contract and sign in a super team vs players that force their way out of their contractual teams (ex.: James Harden twice). Lebron and KD were never at fault like that.
It's a great point. LeBron and KD never sold out their own games. Too much respect for themselves.
@Luc deman Mukenge it is a choice. He chose not to. And now he cannot play due to logical reasons.
Yu cant label the Warriors as the anomaly when the guys they have they drafted and Wiggins was considered a bust. Apart from the KD years, they made stars from the draft.
Damn, loved this analysis on the current state of the league, didnt even stopped to think about it! Great video!
harden got traded cuz he refused to play cuz some of the nets wouldn't get vaccinated. he didn't even mention that, so was it really analysis?
Remember just how much the Nets gave up to even get Harden. The Nets lost big time on this.
@Rudy Verblac i'm sure harden refusing to do his own job, affected their relationship.
@marcus Did Harden's behavior with the nets have anything to do with his relationship with Steve Nash? Or is it all about the vaccine?
Called aging stupid
The fact that you are comparing scary ass Ben Simmons to Michael Jordan is ridiculous and unreal. Bro stop smoking whatever you're smoking...smh
I hope the team wins the big game this weekend...🤞
I stopped watching basketball after Kobes last game. I can honestly say that this channel has single handedly kept me connected to the sport..... If I ever start watching again, it will be because of Jimmy.

Before he became LeDiva.
@Edwin Karani
Good for you.
@colin james dont ever compare these two facts again
Nba athletes right. ✅️
Plus, The Nets could probably add an allstar with those two first round picks. Although they’ll probably be late 1R picks, so maybe a fringe all star
