The way he said "The gap between LeBron and Jordan is smaller than the gap between LeBron and everyone else." really puts it into perspective how great they both are.
@boy Afrika lmao what are you talking about, iverson didn’t extend the 3pt line like curry did. Curry was the player that proved he was good enough to shoot 5 ft beyond the 3pt line and 10+ 3s a game, nobody was doing that before Curry
@Reggie Ledeux 40 years? my guy have you heard Allen Iverson? the reason all these point guards exist is because of Iverson. In fact right after Jordan, Iverson is probably the most popular basketball player worldwide. I'm from east Africa and I stand on this, something Lebron, Steph, Giannis and many players would confirm.
Y’all tripping if shaq was better then kobe then they would’ve won a 4th ring but his ass squabbled over to Miami to place with dwayde a trashed but younger version of kobe only to pick 1 more ring up well kobe was busting the league then eventually won 2 more rings by his damn self don’t ever disrespect kobe like that
@KingKwam Bro your comparing young kobe to prime kobe. At that time kobe couldn't lead a team he showed that when shaq left! He was too immature. that's why he won in 2009-10 without shaq. Stop comparing afro kobe to Prime shaq. (Kobe's better all time btw)
I agree, good changes! Wonderful list! Will be fun in a few years with Jokic, Giannis and Luka! Jokic and Luka will surely make the list and not as tier 5 😶
@rap e reggae good God would you people please learn how to read! I never said he was 30, and we know Jordan accomplished similar things by a similar age because I'm the one that said he did!! Jesus mother of Christ people! learn how to read.
@hank good God it's just fascinating that the art of reading comprehension is apparently been lost on 90% of the world. I'll hold your hand through it again but I shouldn't have to because all it takes is a little bit of reading and you can follow the story. I am not the one who made this comment. @rap e reggae I'm not quite sure what's so crazy about him winning his ring 2 years younger than Jordan winning his?? Jordan started in the league what? Two or three years later than giannis did..... So that means they were both in the league the same number of years before they won their first one. And by the way, I hate Michael Jordan! One of my two or three least favorite athletes in history so this is not at all about defending him. Just like it's not about hating on giannis. Like I keep telling everybody over and over over, who has not bothered to read this==this is specifically in response to one post put up by one person making a big deal out of how amazing it was that he had done so much by this age/point in his career. And I think it is absolutely incredible and I think by the end he's going to end up possibly being a top 10 if not even higher. All my point was, is that if you go back and look at the history of the league, there are double-digit numbers of people that have done as much if not more by this point in his/their careers. It still makes him a unicorn and it's still very impressive, but it's not as if the league hasn't seen this many times before.
@Mark Beebenot only that he won his shit 2 years younger than Mj that shit is actually crazy he just turned 28 lol Giannis will end his carrer as a legitimate top 5 if he gets some help and gets rings in the next years def goat potential
WILT ON TOP THE END under him can rearrange , no one takes Wilt out not even MJ NO ONE, Lebron Could come close in the end but no one else, and thats CLOSE , do you get it ? or are you as utterly lost in the discussion as anyone else ?
@PaulElect144K whatt didnt mean anything? So closed minded dont you?. The only player who have 100+ block and 100+ steal a year are micheal jordan and pippen. And hakeem the only player who have 200+ block and 200+ steal a year. And you called it didnt mean anything. Such DIRESPECT Michael jordan choose hakeem as his center, and even shaq put him the goat center Even in ppg hakeem have more number in playoff than in regular season. By 2 margin, one of player that doing so Even kobe have similiar number in ppg of playoff and regular
@Fery Wachidi Steals only really that doesn’t mean anything bro if someone should be tier 2 is easily Wilt Chamberlain he was just very disrespected in the list
@MMKayzo googling it. After 2011 final lost. Lebron came to hakeem camp to learn how to poin and guard in post, if you static lebron in 2011 before, some match of lebrom is rather inconsistent. After he came to hakeem camp, 2012 and after lebron have more consistent in every category, because he have more card to play. And if you statiscly hakeem have more steal per total match than kobe and lebron
@Fery Wachidi what? hakeem on 2nd because he has more steals? and lebron didnt win rings because hakeem thaught him some post moves, he just played better those seasons
Good list but for me Duncan in tier 2 Kawhi in tier 4 Pippen in tier 4 Garnett demoted to tier 5 Russell demoted to tier 3 And thats it . Good list nontheless
You make some of the most well written, researched, and edited content on PLclip. Consistently Top-Tier content, I look forward to every video you drop
@Zego LeBron a all around player? Forget defense, 3 point shooting, and mid range shots? He’s a slightly above average defender for 90% of his career. Below average shooter. Elite finisher, elite passer, pretty above average rebounder too.
Nah, cause KD's last 2 seasons shouldn't put him in the 2nd tier. Giannis won DPOY and MVP in 2020, FMVP the next year, and has made 1st team all NBA each year since his last list. What KD do? A 2nd team All NBA appearance. Cool. Giannis made 1st team all 3 years/ KD didn't make it in 2020-21 and he didn't play the year before. Giannis was 1st team all defense each year too
I can't agree with Isiah Thomas being in tier 5 he beat Magic, MJ and Larry while they all played with top 50 players and it was the era of big men if Steph is tier 3 so is Isiah
@Jack Stone Bird and Kareem was something else.. Just watching them on TV was something magical happening on the court.. I see why they are held in high regards..
Cause y’all dickride him in the comments every video. Recently his videos have been subpar with weak arguments and narratives but y’all still praise them and treat his narratives as fact.
@IV Blizzard lets break it down, one by one. First of all Horace Grant was not an elite defender. In 17 seasons he get only one all star game selection and 4 second all defensive teams. Good defender but no way elite. Ron Harper ? Serioucly ? Nothing against him as he was very likeable but to say he was an elite defender is at least exaggeration. Literally not even one all star, not even one all nba team or all defensive, not even third, fr ? Rodman was a monster rebounder and hard defender but he only join the second three peat. So saying bulls have three elite defenders is not true. Best defender they got was Scottie. And then Rodman. I dont think that is some crazy d. Even mj was better d than Harper and Horace. I am with you about Magic (and Bird, you didn't mention him btw) and other players/ teams but still the competition was not weak at all. Bulls didnt dodged houston, its the other way around. Rockets where pure injoy to watch back then but in reality they benefited from mj's absence. If MJ didn't stop we might have seen his best performances. I don't think rockets have a chance despite they where dominant when MJ wasn't playing. Which reveals the truth. The reason rockets don't have a three peat is Mj. With him out of the picture ppl might talk about Hakeem being a top 10 all time something like Tim is consider now. You also need to take notice that the succces of a team its other teams failure. So one of the reasons other teams didn't get to built and dominate it's cause they didn't get the economic status in order to do so. If mj's bulls playing this era gsw might never get their chips. That doesn't mean that they are not great but a team with a healthy, motivated prime MJ its for sure champion in any era against any team. Without him bulls where still good yes, but how many rings do they have without him ? Exactly. Ps. Jazz may also got a 3peat if mj wasn't around and Karl might also being in top 10 all time, or Someone else depending on what moves might have happened.
Dame's my favorite player but if we're being honest he doesn't deserve to make it on the next ten. He's a borderline top 75 player. With no MVP's, final appearances, defensive accolades and only x1 all NBA first team it's hard to argue.
The fact LeBron flops all the time, got swept in the finals and had to switch teams numerous times to find success keeps him from ever being on Jordan’s level. He is without a doubt a great player, but will NEVER compare to MJ. Not to mention Bron’s sjw antics have hurt the NBA in a way it may never recover. Jordan increased the NBA’s popularity and LeBron drove people away. If anyone compares to MJ it’s Kobe.
Chamberlin tier 3???? That's a travesty. The man STILL holds more NBA records than the group in the 2 tiers above him COMBINED. You need to fix that!!!
@Bull Sheik Go ask e. g. a nobody (ironic!) like KD what influence Dirk had on him and the game overall. He would tell you that especially Dirk showed that a 7 footer can be much more then just a center or mid ranger and rebound grabber. I mean he is 7 foot and won the three point contest - that was absolutely rare at his time. Now you have many tall guys that can shoot and the game is much more versatile and less static. This is also due to guys like Dirk.
If Luka gets a Chip, it going to be very interesting to see where this pyramid goes. Luka is making Tier 3-4 moves very soon, imo. This is after his monster 60-20-10 comeback win against the Knicks.
It would be fun to make a B.O.A.T (bests) pyramid so where the abilities of the players are more of a factor instead of the importance and greatness of a player.
I think most of these changes are definitely the right move - I'm on board with LeBron in tier 1 (and agree that Jordan is still the GOAT, though I think the gap between MJ and LeBron and the gap between LeBron and Kareem is pretty comparable). Glad to see Russell and Bird move up a tier, especially since I think Magic and Bird belong on the same tier. I agree with Steph moving up, and I'm alright with KD ascending with him, though I might not have made that choice. Totally agree with the demotions of D-Wade, Isiah, Pippen, and Stockton in favor of Moses, KG, Dirk, and especially West. I only start to disagree around the final tier or so, which makes sense because things get hazier the further down the pyramid you go. I probably would have kept Pettit over Hondo, or maybe AI, and I am not sure I'm ready to see Giannis on tier 4 already. But these are very minor gripes. Overall, this is a very solid GOAT pyramid and an improvement over the last one. I hope you revisit this topic every few years when you feel like a major change/addition is in order.
@Don't Read My Profile Photo it's been about 10 years since this joke was funny but you probably weren't allowed on the internet unsupervised back then
I’m not even a huge fan. But thank u for paying attention and realizing dirks try greatness. That man was legit a basketball thing. Idol, star, enigma, competitor,stud. Thing.
List sucks. Emotional Lebron too high, selfish non-leader team jumping Durant too high, dwade too low, Leonard shouldn't be here. Barkley too low, Shaq and duncan too low, Jerry too low. Typical list of someone in their 20s. Iverson gone? he was literally an unstoppable scoring champ in Philly.
This is probably one of the best ones I’ve seen that I agree with. I would swap Kobe and Wilt. Wilt’s individual records and what he accomplished are too great I think to take him out of tier 2 and I could argue that any of the players in tier 3 were better than Kobe although Kobe could certainly be ranked higher than all of them. Only other tweaks I could think of would be I would put James Harden in over Scottie Pippen. I do think Scottie gets too much credit for Jordan’s six rings. Yes he was good but if he wasn’t in Chicago and was on a regular way team I think he would be like Sydney Moncrief. I have also always thought Dwayne wade was overrated. He has about seven good seasons and granted they were incredible but he really tailed off and I didn’t think he was that great of a role player with lebron. As good as lebron was in those Miami days of wade was as good as everyone thinks he is they should have never lost a game. It’s controversial but I would probably give CP3 the slight nod over him for my #30 spot because of the consistency of his career but the joker will be knocking out one of them in a few years anyway in my book. I also think harden’s peak was on par with wade’s and he has had more longevity in terms of performance when he’s fat. But harden, wade and CP3 would be my 29 through 31 with kawhi at 28 who I could see swapping as well. But I agree with the other 27.
Love your videos, always well thought out with good facts to back up. My favorite team growing up was the Bulls. In my opinion this pyramid is too big. It should only be 4 Tiers with Jordan as the Star at the Top above the Pyramid. Get rid of D.wade, Pippen, Robinson, K.leonard and Stockton.
I think this list is great. I’ve been a fan of the NBA since I was 10 and I’m 42 now. However, I do think if you put LBJ at tier 1 Kareem needs to be up there too. I also think Duncan should be moved up to tier 2. Just my opinion but this is the best list I’ve seen period.
@TheAnswer13 Usage means he has the ball in his hands more than most players in the league, yet he doesn't score any more points than Steph. If he was so much better on offense, he'd score more points with that usage rate.
@Shawn John If you say that I must be slow then you must be right! Again, do you even know what usage is? You keep mentioning it and it seems like you don't. And btw he averages just 0.8 more shots per game this year and at least he's making 53% of them.
@TheAnswer13 He's scoring the same amount of points as Steph, yet his usage and FGA are higher with Middleton out. You really must be slow. Steph is better on offense.
@Shawn John Didn't I just mention that he has to attempt more shots this season since Middleton is out? There's literally no one right now who believes that Curry is better than Giannis. Only idiots like yourself
It's extremely hard adding any current active players to these kinds of lists. There will always be a major recency effect, not to mention that their careers haven't played out yet (later years could improve or decrease their overall standing). Giannis addition feels a bit like this, even though it is likely that he will carry on having a great career (don't really see why he should be added over Jokic, would personally keep both out of the list as of now). Nevertheless, kudos for doing a list and for arguing for it.
Great content as always, Jimmy. Seeing Iverson removed from the pyramid hurt inside. Too many greats in the top 50 now, basketball is aging in a great way. RIP Mamba.
This one’s kinda rough for me Jimmy, dirk and Garnett over wade and isiah doesn’t really make sense for me, and putting West higher felt forced but hey like you said it’s your opinion. Not sure what happened in the last 4 years for those retired players tho 😂
A change in perspective/learning more about the game sometimes results in reordering retired players. Moses Malone never should've been in tier 5, for example.
I love this idea and thing you should revisit the list every few years. I definitely think you should change Steph to Tier 2 I’m not a fan of him but I think he will deserve the recognition by the end of his career
@Ninjasaki _ I don't know how to classify the 60s players accomplishments/stats because of how different the league was in pace and the amount of teams, so I just put them in legend status and leave it at that. So the oldest player on my list is Kareem and the order would be: 1.Jordan 2-3. Bron/Kareem 4-6. Magic/Kobe/Duncan 7-8. Shaq/Bird 9-10. Steph/Hakeem Why do you have Steph over Bird?
@Rei it does matter when you are ranking the greatest players of all time. 1 finals MVP and 3 rings that weigh less than the majority of other players… He needs to win another finals MVP.
Love the list! As a Denver fan I agree that Jokic isnt there yet. Hes on his way to maybe a 3rd straight mvp the way hes been playing. But until he makes it to the finals he should be on the outside looking in. Hopefully he can do it within the next 5 years before your next list. Great video as always!
I like what you have done here. It is difficult to put out such a list and I like how you have the different tiers. I agree with the moves you have made = well done!
Jixmy, make a video about which cities produce the “best” hoopers. Always an argument, would be interesting to see your take where the players in the nba come from and if there is any particular considerations of on where they come from and how that affects their odds of making the nba
Great list. Clearly a lot of thought went into this. However, Kawhi Leonard does not deserve to be anywhere near this pyramid. His lack of consistency disqualifies him from this. Jokic is not only a phenomenal player whose contributions are invaluable to his team, but also incredibly consistent. Kawhi has had one incredible season with the Raptors and not much else.
Solid justification to the changes, Jimmy. The only thing that hurts is seeing AI taken off the pyramid, but it's purely subjective. I don't disagree, the man's just got so much heart! Also, I agree that Luka and Jokic will rightfully earn their spots in no time.
Great job! Tim Duncan played Center from the 2005 playoffs on. He should be listed as a Center. And Since you value player peaks, look at Tracy McGrady, his peak exceeded many on this pyramid.
Honestly, I didn't realize how high I was on Giannis until you showed me the stats in retrospect. Giannis having this much offensive and defensive pressure and efficiency in this era is insane to think about. Rightfully deserved!
@Jalen A yeah he’s just. A champion, two time MVP, dpoy, finals MVP, makes all defensive 1st and all nba 1st every year. Got his team in a top seed without his second best player. Is averaging 30 while playing the best defense in the leuage and leading the league in getting double teamed. Yeah he’s mid lol
@Judy Clarkson How many games of that series against the Bucks did KD win with no help? I'll wait for your answer, because people seem to forget that Kyrie was healthy in 2 of the 3 Nets wins. Kyrie got injured in game 4, not to mention that in game 5 were the Nets got their 3rd win Harden was playing and KD got huge help from Jeff Green who scored 27pts (7/8 from 3). You sir is what I call a propagandist.
@SC Challenger yeah one’s a center playing a center the other is a power foward you wouldn’t have Charles Barkley or Dirk defend embiid usually either lol
I have an idea: how about you do a video on the top 5 or 10 players from every decade. I think that would work better as every generation has a different talent.
I just love how MJ gets the goat spot without the need for any extra information that other players seem to require to justify their positions on the pyramid.
@Vlad bruh he literally explained in the video why the MJ gets a pass. Peak and impact alone, there are no other players like Mike. Almost all our favorite players idolized him. He had the most impressive yet short peak of all ball players ever.
@FBI Stat Major actually ye cause I’m 16 however I do watch full games and go through stats. What about where Kareem MISSED THE PLAYOFFS in his prime is that the goat to you
Firstly wanna say excellent video, with that I feel that it’s mighty hard for this to be considered accurate due to the fact that you almost exclusively filled all of tier 4 with PF not that they don’t deserve to be there but you need at least a guard or two
I agree with 97% of this. It’s a really well rounded take that I can agree with. The only guys I would want to swap in are A.I. and Jokic. Jokic, however, is tough because he had, what, 3 mvps now? And still not a championship. That’s rare. But A.I. was one of the best ball handlers of all time, and that’s hard to overlook. In my opinion, I would take Mikan and put A.I. in. A tough decision, but when you compare how we play ball nowadays to back then, A.I. could have locked down anybody back then without a problem.
@Toshiro Hitsugaya AI belongs in the Pyramid. He brought a bad team to the NBA finals. Won 4 scoring titles, 3 steal titles, 2x league MVP, and averaging a career 26.7 PPG! Definitely need to be there!
A.I. ranks 14th all time in Steals so how is he a bad defender? Check your stats before making assumptions. Plus he would average a easy 35 to 40 in todays game in his prime.
New video idea: take this pyramid, have MJ and Lebron as captains picking 12 man rosters. Who would they pick? Why? How would the teams match up? Etc.. Then simulate a 7 game series between them. Mike has home court advantage, of course. Awesome video.
Dude this video is straight up fire. Jimmy's story telling voice is just built different plus the way he thinks through this stuff makes these videos so interesting to watch. Keep doing what your doing man.
Great list overall but here are some changes. I will never put Kwai Leonard in the top 30 player list he is very overrated compared to the other players we have here. Also I would remove Kevin Machale and Dr J from the list entirely instead I would put AI, Harden and Ewing on the list. Also Bill Russel and Tim Duncan need to switch. Thank you for your great contact.
Can’t convince me kawhi should be on here. He is amazing when he’s playing, but he’s missed 1/3 of his games, anyone who is out is a negative asset, and he’s been negative too long
@izzy031096 Good news for Dallas is they have Luka for another 4 seasons so they have time. They also just got rid of Porzingas' horrid contract last year but got Bertans' terrible contract in exchange. This coming off season they barely have cap space so they would have to make a trade but don't have many good assets to make a huge trade.
I don’t think Stockton should’ve been demoted, he was just a perfect point guard in every aspect. He really didn’t have any noticeable flaws and his ability to boost an entire offense was an ability very few possess
I salute you for the thought process and change in mind tbh, risky risky business dropping players from tier 4 to 5 and bumping players up from 5 to 4 that haven't even played a game in the last 4 years but I commend the ability to admit you mightve made a fault before
I'd say I forgot how stacked the Celtics were back then, but... I've never forgot. I love seeing DWADE up there, dude had physics, gravity defying, bone breaking crossovers. Also, I dunno about AI. I know you're trying to avoid your bias (he's one of my all time faves too), for his Era and style he was unstoppable. Give him the refs from today and he probably gets a ring and is a top 10-15 guy without problem.
Kareem not being tier 1 still upsets me. Also, Scottie Pippen is my favorite player of all time. No way in HELL does he rank above Patrick Ewing. I HATED Ewing back in the day. But he was the only reason those Knicks teams consistently took the bulls to 6 and 7 game series. He was infinitely more clutch than Scottie, and way more of a #1 option. Both were monsters defensively so that part evens out a bit.
Thank you for recognizing Nikola Jokic once again! If he was on a different, more ambitious team he would definitely be climbing this pyramid more quickly
Very solid tier list but D Wade is criminally underrated on here - 3rd best sg of all time, one of the best defensive guards ever, carried a team to a chip with one of the greatest 1 man finals series in history, hella amazing game winners and highlights. The man is easily top 20.
Why everytime in this goat debate no one talks about how the game changed and would have helped players "elevate" their careers. Rules are a big part of the game and this is why a lot of players now get high points. I really hate what the NBA did!
@Khalid Mohamed Luka has a deeper bag than Harden. He's got the handles and shooting like Harden AND post ups. Harden never plays well in the playoffs. Luka has already shown us he gets better when the pressures on
@MS1971 well 2.0 is there for a reason, but we will see how it goes, i'm definitely not sold on luka atm and i personaly don't enjoy watching him that much the same way I didn't like watching Harden, great player tho

Wilt too
Kareem is better than both
@Greg Dubs no i love kobe and he was a great player but fringe top ten at best
I can’t wait until luka is on here. Still a few years out but he has had one of those meteoric starts to a career
If you think luka is good then you must be blown away by jordan, his numbers eclipse lukas timeline
@Noah Pagel to pokoik około pół kółko ok o o oo z pracy ooooooooo od osób będzie się napierdalal nie o 16
@Phil Wilson
0 ball iq you
@Rumbelstiltskin Luka went to the semi finals last year. Not a 1st round exit.
He'll be tier one. Soon he'll be the most hated NBA player after Bron retires cause his the next face of the NBA.
If you value peak over longevity, I don't see how you can put Kobe higher than Shaq
@Titus Williams that had nothing to do with who the better player was. And that was shaq.
@Rashad Williams how many rings he have before Kobe
Y’all tripping if shaq was better then kobe then they would’ve won a 4th ring but his ass squabbled over to Miami to place with dwayde a trashed but younger version of kobe only to pick 1 more ring up well kobe was busting the league then eventually won 2 more rings by his damn self don’t ever disrespect kobe like that

Jokic and Luka will surely make the list and not as tier 5 😶
@Dr. Bruh what about with kyrie now🤔
The list is a joke wilt is in tier 3
@R Y relax fam
@Dr. Bruh Who says in 5 years he will be in Dallas?
@R Y bro dallas isnt winning a chip
The fact that Giannis accomplished what he did in such a short time is absolutely insane

@Mark Beebe You only named players who are all-time greats and are tier 4 or above in this exact video, I don't really get your point here.
@rap e reggae I'm not quite sure what's so crazy about him winning his ring 2 years younger than Jordan winning his?? Jordan started in the league what? Two or three years later than giannis did..... This is defenitely one of THE basketball GOAT lists EVER
@PaulElect144K whatt didnt mean anything? So closed minded dont you?. The only player who have 100+ block and 100+ steal a year are micheal jordan and pippen. And hakeem the only player who have 200+ block and 200+ steal a year. And you called it didnt mean anything. Such DIRESPECT
Michael jordan choose hakeem as his center, and even shaq put him the goat center
Even in ppg hakeem have more number in playoff than in regular season. By 2 margin, one of player that doing so
Even kobe have similiar number in ppg of playoff and regular
This list is shit wilt is tier 3
Dirk is so underrated, thanks for showing him love.
@Jimmy Lolo ik so 🤫🐱
@Jimmy Lolo 🐱🤫
@Khalidsworkd Shhhh...The adults are talking.
🤦 pov you're German
He played zero defense 🤫
Good list but for me
Duncan in tier 2
Kawhi in tier 4
Pippen in tier 4
Garnett demoted to tier 5
Russell demoted to tier 3
And thats it . Good list nontheless
Wilt is tier 3 this shit a joke
russel westbrook tier 6
only reason i don’t got kawhi in tier 4 is his lack of an mvp
Giannis gone be at least tier 3 when he’s done

You make some of the most well written, researched, and edited content on PLclip. Consistently Top-Tier content, I look forward to every video you drop
@Zzz Vain true
this wasn't researched... it's opinion and conjecture.
@Zego meanwhile Michael had impeccable defense, great mid range, great finishing, great passing, one of the best rebounding guards of all time..
Giannis was 1st team all defense each year too
Serious question. Who do you think will end up being better by the time they retire. Luka and Giannis?
@John Doe but it is important enough that it can sway debates between 2 dominant players.
@Klyde Broox so much luck goes into winning a chip that cant be the end all be all when debating players
@B R U H Moment he has to win a chip to be compared to Giannis, numbers and regular season MVP, without a chip are not enough.
Luka has to win a ring and a finals MVP first before that question can be raised seriously.
Jokic
I can't agree with Isiah Thomas being in tier 5 he beat Magic, MJ and Larry while they all played with top 50 players and it was the era of big men if Steph is tier 3 so is Isiah

Duncan should be in tier 2 tbh.
@PaulElect144K tell me some of the good players then other than wilt. oh wait no one knows anyone else because the era was shit?
@DONIS no he didn’t
@PaulElect144K i recon you don't really understand that this was a metaphor. he did not play against literal plumbers but against really bad players
@Emmanuel Enyinwa Bill played against plumbers. Never compare him to Jordan again.
Duncan is overrated. He can't even defend his titles. No back-to-back championships.
In 5 years, Jokic and Giannis Tier 2, Luka Tier 3
In 5 years we will revisit this video.. Hopefully those guys do great within 5 years..
@Jack Stone Bird and Kareem was something else.. Just watching them on TV was something magical happening on the court.. I see why they are held in high regards..
Jokic won't be tier 2. Giannis needs to win another championship to get in there. You can't compare either guy to Bird and Kareem.
I swear you're one of very few people that can make a tier list without being attacked on where you put them.
When you spitting facts and logic, its hard to hate on.
@faiva fotu nah u hi🤣
@Γιώργος Καπάτος Also the fact that the Bulls were still very good without MJ is due to MJ making them better.
Exactly. Ps. Jazz may also got a 3peat if mj wasn't around and Karl might also being in top 10 all time, or Someone else depending on what moves might have happened.
i wish dame could have made it on the next ten with luka

I think because of his Era
Great list. Only change I’d make is switching duncan with bill Russell because of the era
i love seeing dirk being moved up. definitely an extremely underated player
@Kofi Owusuhe literally beat Wade, Lebron, Kobe, Shaq, prime KD and Russ in a playoffs game. So no he isn’t better.
Ion like it. And I love him.
@ImZeBo Dirk is not bettet than Allen Iverson my guy. U can tell the story of the NBA without mentioning Dirk's name.
Dirk is the most overrated player in the NBA history
I thought you’d put Luka on it 😢
It would be fun to make a B.O.A.T (bests) pyramid so where the abilities of the players are more of a factor instead of the importance and greatness of a player.
I love how honest he is and how well he plans out his videos. They are all bangers🔥🔥
@ChemicalTeabag is a bot brotha

The fact that Jokic missed out on the top NBA 75 list and is now about to join a few guys in being a back to back to back MVP is WILD.
larry is so unbelievably clear of magic as an individual player
@Autodidact University yah
nah.
I’m not even a huge fan. But thank u for paying attention and realizing dirks try greatness. That man was legit a basketball thing. Idol, star, enigma, competitor,stud. Thing.

Putting Wade into tier 5 & then moving jerry west into 4 is some real comedy. Also Allen iverson not being on a top 30 list is also ridiculous
I swear you're one of very few people that can make a tier list without being attacked on where you put them.
@Jack Finals Mvp * iggy got one too .. what’s your point 😂😂😂😂
@NAS THE GOD KD got mvp
@Jack lol no he wasn’t.. Steph was
@maddie690ify lebron at least top 3. Tmac overrated. Never won past the first round of the playoffs. No mvp, no all defensive teams.
Happy to see gianni’s move in to the 4th tier, excited for him to move up the list a tier above KG and Dirk 🙏
I have a good feeling when we revisit this next time, Giannis will be in tier 2-3 and Doncic will be in tier 4-5
@TheAnswer13
Usage means he has the ball in his hands more than most players in the league, yet he doesn't score any more points than Steph.
@TheAnswer13
He's scoring the same amount of points as Steph, yet his usage and FGA are higher with Middleton out. You really must be slow. Steph is better on offense.
@Shawn John Didn't I just mention that he has to attempt more shots this season since Middleton is out?
There's literally no one right now who believes that Curry is better than Giannis. Only idiots like yourself
@TheAnswer13
Giannis is 6th in FGA this year, Steph is 12th.... are you gonna keep making yourself look dumber?
Solid pyramid, I personally would consider lonzo at tier 4-5. Great job tho!
I think Kareem deserves tier 1 and if Kobe is tier 2 then so is Duncan, Wilt, and Hakeem.
Facts bron and Kareem tier 1 Jordan tier 2

It's extremely hard adding any current active players to these kinds of lists. There will always be a major recency effect, not to mention that their careers haven't played out yet (later years could improve or decrease their overall standing). Giannis addition feels a bit like this, even though it is likely that he will carry on having a great career (don't really see why he should be added over Jokic, would personally keep both out of the list as of now). Nevertheless, kudos for doing a list and for arguing for it.
6:47 hurt... When I seen my boy Chuck Thanos snapped from the pyramid my heart sunk. That one cut deep. Still my G.O.A.T. but I get it I guess 😒

Great content as always, Jimmy. Seeing Iverson removed from the pyramid hurt inside. Too many greats in the top 50 now, basketball is aging in a great way. RIP Mamba.
@Gangsta Gummy Bear You must be fun at parties
You have no need to take this guy's list seriously, it is irrelevant.
@Bluebirdfalling not all of them are greats
Uh, it's 75 now breh.
I would make some changes personally; move Tim Duncan up to tier 2, move up Oscar Robinson to tier 3, move Pippen up to tier 4, add Jokic to tier 5
Allen Iverson, definitely deserves a spot on that pyramid.
exactly

in the next 10-15 years the pyramid will be full of players of the current generation, the talent now is just insane
So glad to see Jxmmy give Dr. J his flowers. He gets overlooked a lot because he played in the 70’s and early 80’s.
Also, ABA records are not valued enough in the majority of these lists. Jxmy does a great job getting it put in perspective
someone will always get overlooked.
I love this idea and thing you should revisit the list every few years. I definitely think you should change Steph to Tier 2 I’m not a fan of him but I think he will deserve the recognition by the end of his career
I like the addition of Giannis to T4. Dude has accomplished so much in the past 4 seasons
This will be so fun to revisit in 3-5 years!
I like the Jokic love. If you remake this list in another 2-3 years he will be firmly in there
ᵗʰᵃⁿᵏˢ👆ᶠᵒʳ ʷᵃᵗᶜʰⁱⁿᵍ ᵐʸ ʸᵒᵘᵗᵘᵇᵉ ᵛⁱᵈᵉᵒˢ ᵐᵉˢˢᵃᵍᵉ ᵐᵉ ᵒⁿ ᵗᵉˡᵉᵍʳᵃᵐ ʷⁱᵗʰ ᵗʰᵉ ᵃᵇᵒᵛᵉ ᶠᵒʳ ᵐᵒʳᵉ ⁱⁿᶠᵒʳᵐᵃᵗⁱᵒⁿ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵐᵉⁿᵗᵒʳˢʰⁱᵖ👆👆📥📝.
I think Steph will be a high tier 2 when it's all said and done. Decent tier ngl
@Ninjasaki _ I don't know how to classify the 60s players accomplishments/stats because of how different the league was in pace and the amount of teams, so I just put them in legend status and leave it at that. So the oldest player on my list is Kareem and the order would be:
1.Jordan
2-3. Bron/Kareem
4-6. Magic/Kobe/Duncan
7-8. Shaq/Bird
9-10. Steph/Hakeem
Why do you have Steph over Bird?
@solsburyhill like I said, "when it's all said and done"
@Rei it does matter when you are ranking the greatest players of all time. 1 finals MVP and 3 rings that weigh less than the majority of other players… He needs to win another finals MVP.
@solsburyhill i doesnt matter lmao, kareem only have 2 fmvps and he's playing alongside magic
@Judy Clarkson not even close
take john havichek off and put AI back on tier 5 smh

Love the list! As a Denver fan I agree that Jokic isnt there yet. Hes on his way to maybe a 3rd straight mvp the way hes been playing. But until he makes it to the finals he should be on the outside looking in. Hopefully he can do it within the next 5 years before your next list. Great video as always!
Great video as usual. Why limit to 30? Iverson, Cousy and Doncic...IMHO are all worthy here.
I like what you have done here. It is difficult to put out such a list and I like how you have the different tiers. I agree with the moves you have made = well done!
Luka and Jokic definitely making this list next time it's looked at. How can they not
@Greenquack21 everyone on tier 3 or higher have at least 2 titles
They have their whole career ahead of them. Ever heard of Grant Hill and Penny Hardaway?
niluka djonkic
Unless injuries gets in the way I see them climbing the list..
He's not tier 3 you delusional clown.
Jixmy, make a video about which cities produce the “best” hoopers. Always an argument, would be interesting to see your take where the players in the nba come from and if there is any particular considerations of on where they come from and how that affects their odds of making the nba
ᵗʰᵃⁿᵏˢ👆ᶠᵒʳ ʷᵃᵗᶜʰⁱⁿᵍ ᵐʸ ʸᵒᵘᵗᵘᵇᵉ ᵛⁱᵈᵉᵒˢ ᵐᵉˢˢᵃᵍᵉ ᵐᵉ ᵒⁿ ᵗᵉˡᵉᵍʳᵃᵐ ʷⁱᵗʰ ᵗʰᵉ ᵃᵇᵒᵛᵉ ᶠᵒʳ ᵐᵒʳᵉ ⁱⁿᶠᵒʳᵐᵃᵗⁱᵒⁿ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵐᵉⁿᵗᵒʳˢʰⁱᵖ👆📥📝...
Just have MJ at the top. Don't care about the rest of the pyramid.
Championship is a big factor, hope Jokic wins title(s), and Luka
Solid justification to the changes, Jimmy. The only thing that hurts is seeing AI taken off the pyramid, but it's purely subjective. I don't disagree, the man's just got so much heart! Also, I agree that Luka and Jokic will rightfully earn their spots in no time.
@zsefton lol no
@Oludayo kolawole one never missed a game the other be sitting out games cause he didn't get enough sleep the night before
@Dicap how's he been the last two seasons??
With Allen Iverson it isnt just about basketball like you said man had a heart
Same, I agreed with everything pretty much perfectly, accept AI being left off the list and maybe I would move Steph curry up a level at this point.
Great job! Tim Duncan played Center from the 2005 playoffs on. He should be listed as a Center. And Since you value player peaks, look at Tracy McGrady, his peak exceeded many on this pyramid.
doncic on skillset alone, era, accomplishments, peak aside. skillset alone
goat conversation
Luka got to do more.. Dirk Nowitzki is one of the greatest players ever.. Luka got to catch up to that..
The skillset alone is empty, just Globetrotters stuff, gotta win like Dirk!
Honestly I could see Tatum making the pyramid in a few years
Thumbs up! Can you pls do a pyramid of today's current players? I would like to see who's in your 1st - 3rd tier.
Yeah he’s mid lol
y’all overrate giannis so much it’s crazy
@Judy Clarkson How many games of that series against the Bucks did KD win with no help? I'll wait for your answer, because people seem to forget that Kyrie was healthy in 2 of the 3 Nets wins. Kyrie got injured in game 4, not to mention that in game 5 were the Nets got their 3rd win Harden was playing and KD got huge help from Jeff Green who scored 27pts (7/8 from 3).
You sir is what I call a propagandist.
@Judy Clarkson you have never played organised basketball on a high level and it shows
@SC Challenger yeah one’s a center playing a center the other is a power foward you wouldn’t have Charles Barkley or Dirk defend embiid usually either lol
It's a great pyramid. My only change would be Wilt to tier 2 but it would be a hard choice as to who he would replace there.

I have an idea: how about you do a video on the top 5 or 10 players from every decade. I think that would work better as every generation has a different talent.
I feel Giannis will end up Tier 1 or 2.

I just love how MJ gets the goat spot without the need for any extra information that other players seem to require to justify their positions on the pyramid.
@Uchawi Beatz Lol, most of that "idolizing" was what they grew up on, not while they were actually playing with him.
@Vlad bruh he literally explained in the video why the MJ gets a pass. Peak and impact alone, there are no other players like Mike. Almost all our favorite players idolized him. He had the most impressive yet short peak of all ball players ever.
He has covered MJ extensively You a casual ?
@A good drawing of me lol stop talking to me little kid
@FBI Stat Major actually ye cause I’m 16 however I do watch full games and go through stats. What about where Kareem MISSED THE PLAYOFFS in his prime is that the goat to you
Firstly wanna say excellent video, with that I feel that it’s mighty hard for this to be considered accurate due to the fact that you almost exclusively filled all of tier 4 with PF not that they don’t deserve to be there but you need at least a guard or two
After Luka's 60-20-10 game I bet he will be in the next pyramid.
Tf
One game doesnt put him in the top 25 all time. Plenty of players have had 60 point games
Why does Kareem never get enough love man. The guy dominated every level of basketball possible
I’d say it should lebron + Kareem in tier 1 and mj baseball playin ass in tier 2 but aye I don’t make the list
he does tho. he’s the consensus 3rd best player ever. far ahead of everyone else just not on the same level as mj and bron which is accurate
this list is great the only thing i would change is that i would move curry to tier 2 and move bird down to tier 3 because steph changed the game more
I still think Lebron needs one more championship to be tier 1 while TD should be Tier 2. But great video!👍
A.I has a lack of efficiency and is a bad defender. Don't get me wrong, amazing scorer and ball handler, but to me he is not in the pyramid.
New video idea: take this pyramid, have MJ and Lebron as captains picking 12 man rosters. Who would they pick? Why? How would the teams match up? Etc..
Then simulate a 7 game series between them. Mike has home court advantage, of course. Awesome video.
This list is as perfect as you can get in my opinion 🙏🏻
Dude this video is straight up fire. Jimmy's story telling voice is just built different plus the way he thinks through this stuff makes these videos so interesting to watch. Keep doing what your doing man.
Great list overall but here are some changes. I will never put Kwai Leonard in the top 30 player list he is very overrated compared to the other players we have here. Also I would remove Kevin Machale and Dr J from the list entirely instead I would put AI, Harden and Ewing on the list. Also Bill Russel and Tim Duncan need to switch. Thank you for your great contact.

Doncic and Jokic should also be there. But apart from that great list👍🏼
Steph should be in tier 2 and KD should be tier 4 still
☝☝Hello fan💝
Thanks for Watching and commenting, Congratulation You've won my end of the year giveaway prize🎁...........
Can’t convince me kawhi should be on here. He is amazing when he’s playing, but he’s missed 1/3 of his games, anyone who is out is a negative asset, and he’s been negative too long
luka definitely going to be on this in a few years. dude is a monster
@Blake Levario i do, and if u did then you would know that luka plays on a dog 💩 team. team impact and success is a huge part of greatness
@Dylan aronson u don’t know ball
ur delusional
@izzy031096 Good news for Dallas is they have Luka for another 4 seasons so they have time. They also just got rid of Porzingas' horrid contract last year but got Bertans' terrible contract in exchange. This coming off season they barely have cap space so they would have to make a trade but don't have many good assets to make a huge trade.
Luka will end up in tier 3 imo
After Luka’s insane game I think I should be at least tier 5
Can you please do the same list just based on SKILLSET. that would be a FUN one! Thanks
Can you PLEASE make a video of the amount of technical fouls this season compared to past seasons? I feel they're getting out of hand...

I don’t think Stockton should’ve been demoted, he was just a perfect point guard in every aspect. He really didn’t have any noticeable flaws and his ability to boost an entire offense was an ability very few possess
It's hard to argue with the list when Jxmy presented the stats and information too well.
Makes perfect sense and proves why people run off nostalgia so much, any team rn would give any of those 90s players a run for their money

@Kieran Galvin Not as overrated as DRose.
@Kieran Galvin a big man doing things we never seen and you wanna have some dumbass comment like that.
@Kieran Galvin L
Joker overrated
Very solid tier list but D Wade is criminally underrated on here - 3rd best sg of all time, one of the best defensive guards ever, carried a team to a chip with one of the greatest 1 man finals series in history, hella amazing game winners and highlights. The man is easily top 20.
Amazing pyramid! I think Shaq should be in tier 2 though.
Why everytime in this goat debate no one talks about how the game changed and would have helped players "elevate" their careers. Rules are a big part of the game and this is why a lot of players now get high points. I really hate what the NBA did!
Allen Iverson deserves to be in the top 30. He's almost the pinnacle of small guard that could do it all.
can’t wait to see luka cracking this list from the ground up
@Roberto Loor he isn’t on curry’s level bro y’all gotta stop overating bro I love luka but y’all be comparing him to legends
@Takuma Katagiri harden in the rocket’s always showed up in the playoffs but now he doesn’t
@Khalid Mohamed Luka has a deeper bag than Harden. He's got the handles and shooting like Harden AND post ups.
Harden never plays well in the playoffs. Luka has already shown us he gets better when the pressures on
@MS1971 well 2.0 is there for a reason, but we will see how it goes, i'm definitely not sold on luka atm
and i personaly don't enjoy watching him that much the same way I didn't like watching Harden, great player tho
@Kisame Hoshigaki nah curry in tier 3 without having any defensive award. Luka is surefire a tier 3 and up if he keeps doing this
