Fantastic video, great idea. Infinitely more entertaining. And of course not at all surprised to see that Olympic track and field athletes are the best.
Triple jumpers would utterly smash everything in their path and it wouldn’t even be close. It’s quite literally the perfect explosive movement for dunking. I would give anything to see the incentivized to show their bounce
@chadwick47 That’s not correct. Triple jump focused very much on the bounce as well. A triple jumper can also jump high. Because you need that bounce and power to jump forward. If people want to learn more about triple jump you can find many videos on PLclip about the training.
Wilt the Stilt was a triple-jump champion. He did a running dunk-jump for a foul shot in a game and the rules were immediately changed to not allow it.
@S Des It's the landing that might suck. In the third row, in some kid's popcorn cup as you crush that poor kid. But you got the record now, and he ain't gonna be eating the rest of that popcorn, so ++
I wish there was a JxmyHighroller for other sports. The knowledge of history, amazing stats, crunching numbers, the humor, presentation of info. Just top notch stuff
Absolutely needs to happen! Glad you included Tyreek and Odell in your list, those dudes can bounce! Maybe even include a couple dunkers from dunk league like Jordan kilganon
Noooo no viral dunkers that's the issue now is everything has been done lol the room to push it is sooo small already after a few years of those guys it'd be boring again.
Nah, no youtubers. That's literally all they do, it would make it boring because they would just win. They practice dunking every day all day. It's way more fun to have athletes from other sports and NBA players who don't only focus on dunking. Leave the youtube dunkers on youtube.
I remember watching this dunk contest a couple of times. I still remember the most impressive dunk that I have ever seen came out of it. You actually showed it in your lead up to this contest. It was either Powell or Conley jumping from the ft line and dunking with two hands.
I remember this! Many thought it wasn't amusing or really dope...definitely not as crazy as it is now looking back! Unreal talent with these athletes!!!
Mark Henry holding a basketball like a grapefruit and dunking while being 6’3 370 pounds is still insane. Honesty better than the last 3 dunk contests at least
@Jason Phillips Though I don't doubt the 400lbs at all lol. I think the only and1 player to make it to the nba was 'skip to my lou'- Rafer Alston. He got picked up by the Houston rockets I believe. Others made it to workouts with teams but didn't have the right skills - "whole package" to make an nba roster
You have absolutely 100000% convinced me. This needs to come back because the dunk contest is more than dead at this point. It’s a zombie of its former self
Excellent video, and your commentary is gold! Also, I love your idea of bringing this back since it's difficult to impress us with dunks nowadays due to social media clips. 100%
I wish there was a JxmyHighroller for other sports. The knowledge of history, amazing stats, crunching numbers, the humor, presentation of info. Just top notch stuff
I saw this contest on TV and it was my favorite dunk contest of all time because of that behind the free-throw line dunk. The guy was if I can remember correctly, was a triple jumper and was only 6ft 1in! Excellent!
That is a GREAT idea! Watching the dunk contest used to be like Christmas to me, now I don't even tune in. I would watch them if they did this, but they'll have to do it every other season, so we won't get spoiled by it.
@Ken D. but I would argue now and days being a “dream team” doesn’t guarantee a championship. Back in the day maybe but not now. We’ve seen this year after year. The competition is too high and it’s hard to keep a “dream team” whole and healthy throughout a season so you really don’t know how the season will end. The good thing about today vs the past is that every year can be different. It’s harder to really say who will win so now casual fans can’t just bandwagon on some team every year because they’ve won or been to the finals the last 5 years… That’s boring. I like not knowing and having to use actual basketball analysis to determine who has the best shot to win. To be honest the whole “loyalty” to a team thing is a thing owners made up to shame players from leaving an organization and give them a bad rap, and a lot of fans bought into it. Don’t get me wrong I’m not a big fan of wanting out of a contract unless something really really bad happens which I haven’t seen yet. I believe if u agreed I should play it out. Stop doing long contracts. It’s that simple (the caveat to that however, is that owners and GMs can just trade players away whenever they want without regard to that players wishes even if they did nothing wrong, so essentially they are doing the same thing and breaking a contract they had soooo kind of pay back now, right? 🤷🏾♂️ )… But if that contract is over that player has every right to go elsewhere if they feel they have better opportunities in another place. They owe that team nothing after the contract is over. That’s in any profession. Basically, this should be treated like a real business instead of a slave plantation. Just something to think about.
@Michael Hurd I didn't know jxmyhighroler content was the same as watching an entire game 😳 Clownie McMichael. Pick another argument, kid. This one is weak.
@Ken D. players wanting to win rings is great for the sport. The players who sit back and don’t care about winning are the issue with the NBA. If you are personally salty that your team isn’t willing to spend for a dreamteam, that’s on your team, not on the other teams for doing what’s necessary. Sincerely, a cavs fan
I attended this event when I was 10. It was a dream come true to see all those amazing athletes in one building. I can tell you that the stadium was deafening when Conley landed that dunk. In those days we didnt have the internet and nobody believed me that this guy dunked further than MJ.
nice job on this video I had forgotten all about the Slam Fest back in the day and didn't realize Conley's dad was even in it, lol. I think you come up with a great idea for the future of the Slam Dunk Contest, I believe that would bring some much needed excitement back into this great event 👍🏾
Someone hire this man. This idea is literally EPIC and would with out a doubt bring back much needed attention to the All-Star Weekend!!! Props my guy!!!
I love this idea and I'd watch this every year. BTW, I know he's been in the NBA for 15 years, but seeing that dunk it's surprising Mike Conley Jr isn't more athletic
@OkayTV I know they tried team battles one year, but fucked up real hard with it! That being said, one on one tournament deals would certainly help it out, especially if we're back to eight competitors again...
I love this suggestion!!!! Athletes are Uber competitive so this might make some NBA stars want to do it. It could also extend the the baseball Home run and NFL challenges.
I never saw this, but i think i saw it advertised back in the day. Thanks Jxmy! Btw, Wesner holds the record. He jumped from the corner diagonally and went a longer distance.
I’d be down to watch that event. I don’t even tune in to the All-Star weekend anymore bc I’m tired of being disappointed. I realized I can’t keep doing the same thing and expecting different results.
I’ve heard a lot of ideas, but this is the best one yet. I like it a lot. As long as we limit it to 3 attempts max, and if you run up it’s an attempt. Idc if you stop, or lose the ball, or whatever. You get 3 chances with the ball in ur hand, PERIOD.
What if the dunk contest was part of the All-Star game? In-game dunks would be so much more entertaining, you could have judges on the sideline or just let the announcers do the judging. Any time there is a dunk during the game it gets a score and the player with the highest scoring dunk throughout the whole game wins. There will be wide open fast break dunks and maybe some dunks on defenders. A guy with a high dunk score might start defending the rim to protect his lead, and then HE gets dunked on! This would add another layer to the dunk contest and to the All-Star game itself.
*Would love to see it.* Especially to give wider recognition to the world-class track and field talents who, just like Mikes, Conley Sr. and Powell, would be the most likely (besides NBA players) to win it, just because they, and their sports, by and large, represent the best of pure athleticism (i.e., the much larger athletic talent pool resulting from not limiting the total contestant field, from which to draw, to people with world-class- [i.e., ‘NBA-‘] level basketball skillsets means that, statistically speaking, it’s pretty much inevitable that, every year, there’s gonna be a few, if not hella, people from amongst the global track and field community whose bunnies will exceed those of whomever from the league shows up that day, if not, even, those of everyone in whole league, entirely). Honestly, I think the league - whether that means the front offices, or the players, or both - probably already intuitively knows, or at least suspects, this could be a likely outcome (especially if you expand “track and field athlete” to just mean any athletic person, as in the case of the tons of PLclip dunkers and dunk league dunkers, the world over) and, for that reason, will probably not ever be likely to do this, simply, for fear of possibly having its players embarrassed by, relatively speaking, ‘randoms’ (and, therefore, having its prestige, as a league, tarnished by virtue of the very-bad-for-PR, implied-message it’d inadvertently be sending to global basketball fandom and what - as, would likely be conceivable to league executives whose job it is to worry about viewership rate stability [and, ideally, increases] - the average fan might be left with as a takeaway, which is: “yeah, NBA’s still cool, I guess, but bruh.. [now, we know] they don’t even have the best dunkers. You gotta go to PLclip for that”). That might not sound so bad, at first (that is, it may sound like an unlikely problem for these hypothetical executives to ever have to worry about). But also consider that the possible consequence of that thought, by those same “average fans”, when its brought to one of its possibly likely conclusions, is said “average fan,” then, saying/thinking something along the lines of “why would I wanna play [officially NBA-licensed and, therefore, NBA-cash cow] (NBA-) 2K when I could be playing a, presumably funner, [non-NBA affiliated] game featuring only the world’s best dunkers?” [The only solution to this problem is for the NBA to take seriously the endeavor of developing, and scouting for, its own dunk league, as an ancillary, with all the non-NBA dunkers, for, if nothing else, the express purpose of getting them under contracts, and securing rights to their names and likenesses for their use in the production of any potential video games (or other similar such digital renderings). | Note: the creation of such a league would perform a separate function from its developmental leagues but, in some ways yet to be foreseen, may work synergistically with, rather than in complete isolation from, those developmental leagues. Then again, perhaps, that might be too fanciful a thought and, more realistically, the dunk league would never be a launchpad to the NBA, rather, it would, more likely, end up being one possible route, or stop, some unlucky exiting NBA players may, due to a variety of circumstances, end up visiting towards the ends of their professional basketball careers. Many probably wouldn’t take it but, point is, the option would then be there. | And, finally, to anyone out there whose job, when done well, entails, generally speaking, stuff like attempting to put ideas such as this one into practice for the benefit of the league: first off, mazel tov🥂; second off, you’re welcome 😉🤝.]
I remember this contest back then with the Olympic triple jump gold medalist Mike Conley whom I watched in the Olympics. I think the other track star that went from behind the line outdoors may have been farther, he jumped from an angle and not straight on which would make it longer.
Love the concept! And no judging before every dunk was made. Remember when you got a 50 for a good dunk but the next guy had acutally a better dunk but can´t score more than a 50? Lavine-Gordon comes to mind
I wish there was a JxmyHighroller for other sports. The knowledge of history, amazing stats, crunching numbers, the humor, presentation of info. Just top notch stuff
I’ve rewatched Conley’s dunk a handful of times now, and I literally just realized he dunks with his non-dominant hand here. Oh, and he’s the same height as his son. And the Slamfest was held at my alma mater (& the place where I’m currently pursuing a Master’s). I can’t tell you how excited that makes me.
Love the idea Jimmy! An "A" level ATHLETE is an ATHLETE right, he/she loves a challenge! This definitely would lite a fire under the NBA players, in a good way.
It took me a minute to realize that Mike Powell still holds the record for the longest jump ever recorded......but lost to Mike Conley who holds the record for longest jump to slam a basketball. Both guys named Mike, both from the same year, both still hold the records for longest jumps......what a crazy coincidence. This is a lot like the Kennedy/Lincoln coincidence lol.
I really want to see the nba do a 1v1 all star event instead of the dunk contest. A Giannis vs Embid battle to 11 seems a million times better than what we saw last week
@IronWhy lol people are milking this injuries thing for dunk contests and all other things. These guys go all out in pickup games when the off season arrives for free. It’s the embarrassment factor that they avoid especially because they think it will impact their brand.
@Chris Webster I think if you're going to do two on two you might as well do three on three because the dynamic is so much more complex. (Disclaimer I'm pulling the following statement out of my ass:) Most basketball plays can be reduced to three people but not two. As De La Soul and Schoolhouse Rock said, three is the magic number XD. That said there is a three on three League that approximately zero people watch I don't think I've ever seen it myself
I actually think a 2 on 2 tournament would be better, or even 3 on 3. I like seeing good passes, and with that much empty space, there would be some really nice ones, I’m sure.
i still want to see a free-throw-distance dunk, but coming *from the baseline, or coming in diagonally. That would be tuff since the dunker couldnt time his takeoff from a fixed point, aka free throw line
Repent to Jesus Christ “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” 1 John 1:9 NIV H
@Jesper Petersson I think it’s more of a pride thing, even tho ASW doesn’t matter at all these guys are so competitive that they’re afraid to lose and be embarrassed so they just don’t sign up at all. And after the D Wade situation I wouldn’t want to be in it either since it’s not judged fairly
@Sac12 Nah dunny, you done took it too far with this one. The first point I'll make is, Jimmy dug these videos outta places your shallow mind couldn't swim in.
Wilt and Russell . Your young, so you would have to look this up. Wilt was 7'2" and was around 52" vertical. Both could take two steps, jump, and dunk from behind the free throw line. When Wilt was at Kansas, he was dunking his free throws in practice. Scared the heck out of the governing board, and they changed the rule. You can't break the plan of the line, until the ball hits the rim. You seem obsessed with Track records. Russell was the number one or two in the world at USF with a 6'9 /2" jump. Wilt, with no real practice, was good enough to win his area with a 6'6" jump, in converse tennis shoes. Wilt also ran the 440, and was an excellent triple jumper. Russell's track record puts him at number one or two in the world at the time. Much like Secretariat, both have accomplished many, many things that will never be touched, or broken. When Wilt quit, he turned to pro volleyball, and played at the top of that game for 20 years, along with owning part, or all of the tour company. When your video showed him as an MC, I was thinking at that time, he would well have been able to win the contest, and, Wilt has said many times he could dunk from the top of the key. Physically, NO ONE in the current or past NBA came even close in athletic ability to Wilt, and Bill Russell.
Me and my high school hoop buddies watched that Dunk contest back in 92 on Mushrooms. They kicked in for ALL of us on Chris Carters dunk when he took off he literally jumped off the screen and we were all like DUDE DID YOU SEE THAT!!! OMFG GOOD MEMORIES LOL !!!
I wasn't high af but I do remember this in middle school but af now and forgot all about this ever happened. Damn the 90's was the best... Bro we old 😆 🤣
I’m glad I never watched this year’s dunk contest. Just the first dunk in the highlights, and I saw what he was trying to emulate; he missed the second try. You DO NOT MISS THAT ICONIC DUNK on the second try. East bay, off handed, from behind the glass. I’d give you one warmup and three tries max to get at least 7’s across the board. Holy shot that looked so painful to watch!
As I wait for the next episode, I wanted to say that I appreciate the format of your videos. It reminds me of this podcast called “Lore”. You start with an interesting tidbit and then somehow segue into a totally different but interesting topic. Compelete with non-distracting music bed and then, you end your video with a great question or call to action to your followers. I love it. Not sure if you took notice of that or if there’s some standard content creation package thst u follow or if it’s just uncanny, but I love this channel. Can’t wait to see more
the NBA actually needs to take this up. throw in some soccer announcers, freak athletes, and a huge prize pool and people may actually be competitive in an all star week event as well as it being very entertaining
Hi. I just want to say that at 53 yrs of age. White dude who played high school basketball as a power forward….. You have BY FAR the best basketball channel… The history, your exceptional research , your edits, your voice…. REALLY…. you should absolutely be on TV . Everything you present is always well researched, well documented by you, and especially amazingly well presented so that we ,I do, always watch to the end your videos. You have a amazing talent, and as an entrepreneur now here in Quebec, Canada. You should have no reason not to present and TV sports channel your work… Go for it. You should be on the NBA commentary , or if not the leader in your small documentaires presented on nation wide NBA Sports channel. Congratulations and be very proud of work…
I think a bracket system for the dunk contest would be great and a reward too. And try to get all the high flyers Ja Morant, Anything Edwards, Caruso, Zach Lavine, Miles Bridges, Russ, Giannis, make it fun, competitive and entertaining like the skills challenge
Damn those were the days! We'll never see that again as stars will not risk injury in today's world. Those aren't scrubs either, all time greats and HOFs in their respective sport.

Fantastic video, great idea. Infinitely more entertaining. And of course not at all surprised to see that Olympic track and field athletes are the best.
bs, bs, bs.. He actually jumped from the foul line..Just take a look at his last step.
11:42 Why are you giving the edge to Mike instead of Jordan?
I honestly don't understand that
Also, how weird is it that it's "Mike" vs. "Jordan"?
Spare us the raid crap. Its a trash game and its one of the most predatory games out there. its embarrassing people are still advertising the game.
@Cory Wilson yup underrated dunker because he was not as well known
Triple jumpers would utterly smash everything in their path and it wouldn’t even be close. It’s quite literally the perfect explosive movement for dunking. I would give anything to see the incentivized to show their bounce
I don't think they could get the height
@S Des Wow that would look so crazy actually

No I’m top notch stuff
CYMotorsport has similar quality and narration for Formula 1.
total running productions
flemloraps for football.
Mike Conley would have legitimately won an NBA dunk contest during that era
THE NBA NEEDS TO WATCH THIS VIDEO !!!
WASSSUP ALEX
Mike Powell would have done it from further away easily
Get the petition ready and I'll sign it. Let's make this a reality!
That's already 8.5k signers
smart
Somebody show this video to Adam Silver on as many social media sites as possible
FootLocker has Several seasons of Non-NBA Players. Find them! They are Amazing! Some of the most in incredible Dunks ever.
I love the idea too. Thing is, these days, I sincerely only care about hoops. so i'd be like "the hell is this?" every other dunk.
Absolutely needs to happen! Glad you included Tyreek and Odell in your list, those dudes can bounce! Maybe even include a couple dunkers from dunk league like Jordan kilganon
The pro dunker would be a lock tho. Like they are just another level above everyone pretty much.

definitely include the PLclip viral dunkers like Kilganon!! 👏👏👏

Do you mean mike conley?
only 6 ft 3...maybe 6 ft 5 if he didnt have the weight.....amazing
What about escalade from street ball? That dude was an anomaly
@rupert1491 did you watch the video?
@Jason Phillips Though I don't doubt the 400lbs at all lol. I think the only and1 player to make it to the nba was 'skip to my lou'- Rafer Alston. He got picked up by the Houston rockets I believe. conley looked like a super hero with that dunk, great idea hope it comes true
this dude has 150 k subs and many people will never know
This historic NBA event should happen and you might be the ambassador of the hole show if it ever comes to pass. Great video
We need to see more inter-sport competitions like this. It really shows that these people are just not like the rest of us!
Can we all appreciate that Mike Conley did this at a height of only 6'1"!!!!!!! Compared to Jordan at 6'6"
Patiently waiting for this next video. So much content for you to break down, I’m certain the wait is worth it!!
I can’t believe devante 360 under the legged that bitch
That is a GREAT idea! Watching the dunk contest used to be like Christmas to me, now I don't even tune in. I would watch them if they did this, but they'll have to do it every other season, so we won't get spoiled by it.

I remember watching this back in the day. Brought back some serious early 90’s nostalgia 👍
The most impressive Dunk was from Mark Henry, the world's strongest man in the mid to late 1990's. He dunked at 6'3" and 370 lbs!!!!
I attended this event when I was 10. It was a dream come true to see all those amazing athletes in one building. I can tell you that the stadium was deafening when Conley landed that dunk. In those days we didnt have the internet and nobody believed me that this guy dunked further than MJ.
i think they were using womens basketballs
nice job on this video I had forgotten all about the Slam Fest back in the day and didn't realize Conley's dad was even in it, lol. I think you come up with a great idea for the future of the Slam Dunk Contest, I believe that would bring some much needed excitement back into this great event 👍🏾

@Sal Rodriguez how is this the worst idea of all time
Not at all, worst idea of all time
It was 30 years ago, he be lucky if he can jump two foot now.
I feel bad that i was the 421’st like im ngl
can we get tom segura in that bracket????
“And uhhhh…Bonds won this round.” 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Took me out. Jimmy’s videos are the funniest, most informative basketball videos out there. No question.
I love this idea and I'd watch this every year. BTW, I know he's been in the NBA for 15 years, but seeing that dunk it's surprising Mike Conley Jr isn't more athletic
I love your videos jxmyhighroller. Your editing and writing on basketball is outstanding. You should get an Oscar for this. Keep it bro!
How has the NBA not started this up again, I got the chills watching this video so bad ass!!! GIVE US WHAT WE NEED!!
This man just unintentionally saved the dunk contest that idea is literally gold and I hope someone important is watching and does it
stephen a’s idea lmao
You must didn't see Stephen a Smith's idea on Dunk Contest a week ago?
www.change.org/p/nba-let-any-registered-athlete-compete-in-the-dunk-contest-if-they-get-voted-in
Trust me, you don’t want them watching. RB ring a bell?
@OkayTV I know they tried team battles one year, but fucked up real hard with it! That being said, one on one tournament deals would certainly help it out, especially if we're back to eight competitors again...
10:12 -This moment is just so pure...anyone? This woman has her man in her heart...
Just a side note.
Jimmy, uncontested quality as always!
I hope this catches on. Awesome video. It also makes me wonder what a trampoline dunk contest performed by Olympic quality athletes would look like.
Growing up in the '80s and '90s dunk contest is all I ever wanted to watch!
I remember watching this live. It was real cool to watch athletes of all sorts dunking. Thanks for sharing. Takes me down memory lane.
Your channel really offers the most exciting and alternative style basketball content on the site. Keep doing what youre doing brother
@Sac12 boohoo shush
Been used to using my app for PLclip I forgot it was a site! Lol
@Sac12 oh my GOD! A human being…. BIAS?! How could he?! Or like every other normal fucking person they have a bias. Stop hating
@Sac12 like what 💀💀
@Sac12 which players
I miss the creative gathers as well going into the dunks, adds another level to the style and flair
I love this suggestion!!!! Athletes are Uber competitive so this might make some NBA stars want to do it. It could also extend the the baseball Home run and NFL challenges.

@Eddie mercury what? It's still a basketball game, nothing changes except dunks get scores...
@Tyson von Scherrer the injury potential in this is astronomical for it only being an all star game. The league will not even consider this.
What if the dunk contest was part of the All-Star game? In-game dunks would be so much more entertaining, you could have judges on the sideline or just let the announcers do the judging. No
*Would love to see it.* Especially to give wider recognition to the world-class track and field talents who, just like Mikes, Conley Sr. and Powell, would be the most likely (besides NBA players) to win it, just because they, and their sports, by and large, represent the best of pure athleticism (i.e., the much larger athletic talent pool resulting from not limiting the total contestant field, from which to draw, to people with world-class- [i.e., ‘NBA-‘] level basketball skillsets means that, statistically speaking, it’s pretty much inevitable that, every year, there’s gonna be a few, if not hella, people from amongst the global track and field community whose bunnies will exceed those of whomever from the league shows up that day, if not, even, those of everyone in whole league, entirely).
But also consider that the possible consequence of that thought, by those same “average fans”, when its brought to one of its possibly likely conclusions, is said “average fan,” then, saying/thinking something along the lines of “why would I wanna play [officially NBA-licensed and, therefore, NBA-cash cow] (NBA-) 2K when I could be playing a, presumably funner, [non-NBA affiliated] game featuring only the world’s best dunkers?”
[The only solution to this problem is for the NBA to take seriously the endeavor of developing, and scouting for, its own dunk league, as an ancillary, with all the non-NBA dunkers, for, if nothing else, the express purpose of getting them under contracts, and securing rights to their names and likenesses for their use in the production of any potential video games (or other similar such digital renderings).
I’d totally watch your dunk contest over there 10 times out of 10
I wish there was a JxmyHighroller for other sports. The knowledge of history, amazing stats, crunching numbers, the humor, presentation of info. Just top notch stuff
It's called the internet
Flemlo isn’t really like JXMY, Flemlo does ESPN 30 for 30 style stuff
Total Running Productions - Track and field (he is the reason that I found this channel)
@łøv3 Yøurßełf but he makes it seem like his knowledge holds it like a memory like something you recite
KTO, Jon Bois came to mind for me
Bro, your videos are excellent. Great content, narration, ideas, etc. Been watching for a long time. Keep it up.
Mike Conley can dunk 2 handed from the foul line!!! I think he did in this contest as a matter of fact
Quality content as always bro. Keep going!
Watching this vid made my day. Pure gold, hope your idea gains traction!!!
*Wesner jumped farther imo.. He even jumped off to the side of the free throw line. You have to be kidding me. That’s insane. 😮*
That dunk contest was one of a kind!👍🏻💯💥💢
I'm a baseball fan, never even given tuning into the dunk contest a thought, but if it was like this I'd make a point to tune in every year
I don't even watch NBA but I LOVE your videos. This is some quality content right here.
60 for Kat 60 Irving 51 saddiq bey Bron 50 twice.. Do a video on why or how they are scoring so much recently and why this isn't normal
That one on one would be cool
It would last ages
Damn I wish they still did this today. That last dunk contest was….. I don’t have a word for it.
Michael Jordan still had the best and most animated dunk from the free throw line ever.
i still want to see a free-throw-distance dunk, but coming *from the baseline, or coming in diagonally. That would be tuff since the dunker couldnt time his takeoff from a fixed point, aka free throw line
They definitely gotta bring this back to the all star weekend
Watching those in the day was awesome. Even more impressive is that all of these athletes are 6’4” or shorter
I remember in 2019 when J.Cole almost dunked in the dunk contest. Everyone went wild!!! JXMY IS A GENIUS!!!
Repent to Jesus Christ
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.”
1 John 1:9 NIV
H
@PedroMendz I didn’t know that
@Jesper Petersson I think it’s more of a pride thing, even tho ASW doesn’t matter at all these guys are so competitive that they’re afraid to lose and be embarrassed so they just don’t sign up at all. And after the D Wade situation I wouldn’t want to be in it either since it’s not judged fairly
@Kaden Dunk Did you not see guys dunking for fun? Why would they not dunk for money & fame/glory?
I think nowadays people a lot more aware of injuries and wouldn’t risk their career on the NBA dunk contest
Mike Connelly was amazing, two hands from behind the line and his reverses etc . 6 foot 2 as well. These guys are short .
9:43 the fist pump in the air after the double pump reverse . Just awesome
totaly agree with you bro... somethings gotta change in the NBA dunk contest
This idea for the dunk contest is before my time. Looks dope. They should bring this back esp after this years contest 😒
The work put into these in unreal thanks for making all of our days 😊
@Sac12 Nah dunny, you done took it too far with this one. The first point I'll make is, Jimmy dug these videos outta places your shallow mind couldn't swim in.
@Sac12 then you do it
@Sac12 how about you shut up and realise you couldn’t make even half the quality this man makes “relax”
Work? Its just a bunch of basketball clips mushed together with some decent commentary. Anyone can do this relax.
Great idea, bring something like this back. I would watch it.
We need Lavine, Jones Jnr and Gordan in a dunk contest Best of all-time
You already know Jimmy bout to do a video on the crazy scoring stretch that is happening right now
Wilt and Russell .
When your video showed him as an MC, I was thinking at that time, he would well have been able to win the contest, and, Wilt
has said many times he could dunk from the top of the key.
Bro we old 😆 🤣
Hahaha damn nigga that shit sounds like an unforgettable time
Damn, I’d def hang out with ya’ll in high school.
TYVM!!! awesome of you to put this back...awesome dunks from different "ballers" :D...that weightlifter guy is a "beast" :D
I was 10 years old. I legit remember this! And this video just gave me a little break from reality.
when you check MJ’s dunk it seems he definitely could make it even from further point
because he dose it way comfortable
I like how frequent the uploads have been!!
And he has been doing it consistently for years
Me too
Sthu
Keep it up please 🙏
I'm inspired by Jimmy my videos are funny entertaining.... Your support would mean everything to me...❤️
NBA really needs to see this video, I wouldn't mind seeing Ronaldo do it from the free throw line lol
Legit, one of the best pitches I've ever seen haha. This would be maddddd. Would honestly get more views than your typical Superbowl.
Jimmy doesn't just complain, he offers SOLUTIONS!
The more videos I watch. The more I learn I’ve been wrong most of my life about who I thought did first and better. Didn’t. Sheesh. 😩
I dunked from behind the free throw line too. Someday you’ll do a story on me! It’ll be a good one 💯
Can’t wait to see more
I'm old enough to remember watching this. It should definitely be on again!!!!
I hope you are just busy with something else and doing good. I hope everything is alright, pleade upload soon JxmyHighroller
the NBA actually needs to take this up. throw in some soccer announcers, freak athletes, and a huge prize pool and people may actually be competitive in an all star week event as well as it being very entertaining
@Bebe Hillz shit bring everyone I don’t care this sounds so entertaining!
Lmao christiano ronaldo at a dunk contest😭😭😭... BRING OUT THE VOOVOOZELLES 🎺 🎺
imagine martin tyler commentating the dunk contest 😭😭😭
I'm 100% down. NBA make it happen like the good old days I never even knew existed!
12:18 hahahahaha no way he put 5’10 tyreek hill on there😂😂
Hi. I just want to say that at 53 yrs of age. White dude who played high school basketball as a power forward….. You have BY FAR the best basketball channel…
The history, your exceptional research , your edits, your voice…. REALLY…. you should absolutely be on TV . Congratulations and be very proud of work…
I one million percent agree. This would be dope for the sport
Would love to see it but pretty sure no teams are going to allow there stars to get hurt doing this
I think a bracket system for the dunk contest would be great and a reward too. And try to get all the high flyers Ja Morant, Anything Edwards, Caruso, Zach Lavine, Miles Bridges, Russ, Giannis, make it fun, competitive and entertaining like the skills challenge
Fantastical idea! This would bring people back every year for sure!! Please Adam, sign this fella to consult!!!
Damn those were the days! We'll never see that again as stars will not risk injury in today's world. Those aren't scrubs either, all time greats and HOFs in their respective sport.
Jimmy, absolutely love these videos! Your way of telling stories are something we haven't really seen for NBA videos. Keep up the good work!
NBA vs other sports would be so great. I would be so hype if a golfer took home the dunk trophy
Just imagine Michael Jordan running with the ball and taking off from the top of the key lol
